RUSH - Condoleezza Rice, Morality and Perspective [ spoke on sitting out election ]
rushlimbaugh.com ^ | July 13 2012 | RUSH

RUSH:

I saw some stories about... Actually, I should more accurately say I saw blog posts speculating on what would happen to turnout. Some of them made the point that there really isn't a whole lot of turnout energy, that conservative turnout's kinda flapping away in the wind. And if Condoleezza Rice had happened to be the nominee, it could suppress turnout.

And I read that and it boggles my mind.

I could be dead wrong about it, bit when I see blog posts that conservative turnout is down because they hate Romney and are unhappy that Romney's the nominee, and conservatives are already thinking sitting it out and sitting at home?

And if Rice is the choice, that's bad?

I'm thinking, "What the hell is going on out there?" If that's true, if there are a bunch of you people sitting around there thinking you're not gonna vote 'cause Romney's the nominee and if he chooses Condoleezza it's over, then I have lost touch with you!

I have lost touch with you. I don't understand that at all.

If they fully implement Obamacare, it's not just babies in the womb that are gonna be killed! That's his point. So what does it matter?

Now, it matters because it's morality.

It matters, and you should never compromise your morality. But you do have to keep things in perspective. And you do have to have your eye on the big prize and what is going to enable you to have your morality prevail (or to have a chance to, at any rate).

But if there are people out there who are saying, "You know what? (grumbling) I don't like Romney so much and I'm thinking not voting,"

I don't know you.

So a very accomplished man is putting his reputation out there to be smeared and putting his family out there to be subjected to ridicule in something that is all for show? Why would he participate in that instead of just enjoying the life he has built?

Logic doesn’t apply to the purer-than-thou crowd - even when you point out to them that conservatives they would have gladly given the keys to the country to also support the Lesser of Two Evils.

You said it perfectly.

The election is about you, not the country.

I understand.

Well said (and you might read my recent post that mirrors your sentiments).

To add to your points, I think the country has gone so far left that it’s now become too big of a leap to hope and pray that the left-washed morons in this country could elect a true conservative.

To heal the political culture in this country (leftist now) can only be done gradually. So, we get a RINO in 2012, then we can run a true conservative in 2016.

Those here who don’t realize the sad truth about our foolish/naive/leftist electorate are delusional.

It’s so bad that we almost need a Trojan Horse candidate (one who can convince them to elect them and then go way conservative once in office).

Nice amplification of my thoughts...thanks.

So many that have a visceral hate for Obams espouse their thoughts as rational, when in fact it's a “herded rational”.

All rational thought is with the assumption that mankind is capable of discerning without the fetters of God to complicate their personal world.

The Truth, Christ, reveals the hidden things of darkness.

Obama, pagan in, pagan out.

Romney, Pagan in, Pagan out.

Many quote the simple definition of insanity....”Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. Albert Einstein”.

This is insane. False god worship, politics being the pedestal.

If he wasn’t talking to the church, then we could have no military or cops, and would just have to let our enemies kill us as we “turned the other cheek”

Now go love your neighbor or something.

“don’t you think God would want you to MINIMIZE Evil and would not fault you for voting for the lesser evil if there are ONLY two choices??”

You are mistaking the VOTE between two evils as the only choices.

God gives us another choice, to voice our opinion that for us, mitt romney is evil. God judges nations now in this life, not from the judgment throne after death. God judges ME before the judgment throne by what I do. God will see what I do when I voice my opinion by writing in a candidate. I will vote as I will because God knows my vote.

Will America fall because of my vote? No, America is already falling because of who is voted into office, because of the Supreme Court that has the blood of 55 million innocent unborn on its hands and that blood is flowing through the streets of America. God is going to stop abortion if He has to raise up an army of jihadists to do it.

“Revoke and replace...”

Okay Rush, what is there about this that you can’t quite grasp?

The Democrats have left the reservation and as usual, the Republicans have a much better plan to involve the government in unconstitutional activity.

Wake up and smell the bat guano bud.

Both sides are selling us out, and we’re through acting like that’s not what’s happening.

McCain? Romney? Open borders? Decimated Military? Government control of 1/7th of our economy, health care? Medicare Part D? Amnesty that isn’t an amnesty? Watching both parties agree to spend us into oblivion? Watching both parties celebrate the fact that our nation is being stolen from us? Watching both parties agree to allow people from terrorist states come here?

Who is standing up for us Rush? Obama? Romney? You?

JHC fella, if you can’t grasp what’s going on here, it’s time for you to retire.

Just how far down this road did you expect us to travel Rush, before we stood up and said we weren’t going to take it anymore?

You’re blind in one eye and can’t see out of the other bud.

Even if the candidate is only 1% less evil than the other one, you obviously vote for the less evil. It’s a no-brainer.

So, hypothetically, if Stalin were running against Hitler and Hitler was 1% less evil than Stalin, you'd vote for Hitler?

You just summed up how insane the lesser of two evil strategies is.

Voting for evil or a liberal, advances evil and liberalism.

You don't advance conservatism by voting for liberals. Liberal Republicans advance liberalism with your vote. That is why Republicans keeping winning elections and conservatives keep losing ground.

The problem with some is that they think that both Romney and Obama are equally evil. I think that way of thinking is so twisted that it is pointless to argue with those who conform to that idea. Especially the ones who think Romney is GREATER evil than Obama! Oy vey.

Romney is the greater evil because he corrupts otherwise good people into voting for liberalism. When both parties are advancing a leftist agenda, there is no hope to stop it.

And, yes, the consequences of a Romney President are FAR worse -- Liberal legislation passed with the help of RINOs that Obama could only dream of getting enacted, Democrats taking back Congress, wiping out the gains made in 2010, and the White House, repeating the cycle we just went through from 2006 to 2008. A Romney Presidency puts us right back where we were after the 2008 election with a Democrat just as bad as Obama in the White House.

GOOD ADVICE.

I do feel their pain. Unfortunately, we are stuck for the nonce with a TWO-PARTY System. For Conservatives to get exactly what we want would require a FOUR-PARTY System ... something like Britain's.

But with multi-party systems a Parliament is usually attached that can change Prime Minister's at will with a vote of "No Confidence."

We just plain don't work it that way. Our choice is simple: The Evil Party vs. The Stupid (and occasionally more evil) Party. An attempt to punish the Stupid Party, which it well and truly deserves, will only get you The Evil Party. cf. Perot!

Think smaller. Try and start a Conservative Party in your town, county, home state. Vote for the more conservative Republicans in the primary. Start these activities AFTER whomsover is nominated by the Republican Convention ousts Obama. That is job 1.

I agree with your analysis.
Nobody should sit out the election. There is Greek word for those who sit out elections in which they are entitled to vote: idiota.

It only takes one hand to vote. Use the other to hold your nose.

No one, aside from Christ, was free from sin.

So, voting for ANYONE is voting for a “lesser evil”.

It’s interesting that your standards are so malleable. Maybe you have never really meant what you are now stating, because I would imagine you have voted for a presidential candidate before.

>> There are only two choices here, right?

Dismiss the concerns about delusional expectations. The goal for some IS to reelect Obama. It’s a complicated plan that I don’t quite understand.

That said, I believe fewer nascent beings will suffer from abortion if the GOP gets all 3 Houses. I also believe 2014 is less of a threat for the GOP if Obama loses. Also consider Foreign Affairs, monetary policy, CiC, etc.

Yes, Romney is a dick for betraying Life, but with all due respect, I think your strategy and low regard for the moral integrity of those on the Right is way off base.

Before completely immersing yourself in the reelection of Obama, understand you would be granting him another 4 years of EOs, CiC, representation of Foreign Policy, Justice, judicial appointments, etc, and two solid years of defaming the GOP Houses leading up to the 2014 mid-terms.

We did not get “here” in one election. As a country, we will not get back to conservative principles in one election.

“Incrementalism” requires a slow, steady pushback, each election.

If they fully implement Obamacare ...

Just needs a little tinkering here and there, right Rush? Just a partial implementation.

I am in total agreement. I am not happy about voting for “lesser of 2 evils”, however, if we manage to get this President out of the WH and gain back the Senate and keep the House, we will be forcing the Republican candidate to pivot further to the right. Nothing is a guarantee here.
Romney must be forced “By the People” to move to the Right of center. We then can keep him in check and hopefully in the time he is in office, new stars will take hold and rise up. Alan West, Rubio, etc.
In doing this, we will save babies and the elderly from being abused by the system that is about to take hold, Obamacare.
There is so much at stake here and to think that we are all fighting over this election with the candidate for the Repubs instead of taking out the main target, well let’s just say, I am having a hard time sleeping over this.
I have nothing against being a purist mind you, but our liberties will never come back to us if this President gets 4 more to solidify his agenda. God knows that I have made peace with him, and to save those I can right in this moment, I will vote for Romney. But rest will never happen in my lifetime again, for my eyes will never be shut to who ever is in power.
I suggest we all take a deep breath and remember who and what we are fighting for. For me it is my grandkids and a Downs Syndrome Niece, who if the health care is inacted will never reach a ripe old age for she will be of no service to the country.
To all those purists and patriots that are fed up and standing their ground, I respect you, but I pray that what you are doing is really what is good for the country. As this post has really been too emotional for me to say, please respect that this is MHO. Not looking for a fight, just laying out my thoughts.

Thanks for being so levelheaded in this discussion. I am grateful that you are articulating what I can not express properly.
All I know is 4 more years of this agenda and we are done as a free people. I believe what we have seen in the last 3 1/2 years will look like child’s play to this administration. As for the Abortion issue, it will only get worse and elderly abuse will skyrocket in this President’s hands. We will all be told to just “take a pill”.
Where will human dignity be then?
We are all wanting a perfect candidate, and to be quite honest, there isn’t one and folks better get over that issue. We must create and mold better candidates and that will take years because of all the corruption and moral decay in this country.
