White House expands Title IX support to science, tech

Posted on 07/14/2012 7:22:56 AM PDT by TigerClaws

WASHINGTON, June 20 (Reuters) - The White House announced new measures Wednesday to help increase the number of women in the science, math and technology fields as part of a celebration for the 40-year anniversary of a law prohibiting discrimination in education based on gender.

The new guidelines are reinforcements to the law, known as Title IX.

** n 1972, when Title IX was passed, 43 percent of students enrolling in degree-granting institutions were women, compared to 57 percent of new students in 2010

At the school I recently graduated from the split was about 75-25 male-female. What this means is that in ten years about a third of the young men who would have gone into STEM won’t be able to, because every university science department will have already reached its male quota.

How will we educate the young men Title IX leaves behind?

43% of degree-seeking students being women = bad

43% of degree-seeking students being men = good

How much more of this crap are men going to take?

Actually it's even worse than that. Apparently 43% of the higher ed opportunities going to men is still too many for the gender feminists who pull the president's strings.

“Well, we’ll fix that through legislation.”

Yeah, I don’t think our legislators, at least most of them, are really that stupid. I do believe most of them think their constituents are that stupid. This is vote buying, and damn the consequences, pure and simple.

More vote buying.

He already has the cracked-brain Feminist vote. This really suggests that the threats of defection on the far Left have him running scared.

But even as Title IX, one of the most absurd pieces of this absurd legislation, has interfered with College athletic programs, by failing to understand that men & women approach athletics from somewhat different motivations; this will undermine college programs in math & science, by distorting proper admission guidelines.

Nothing is more destructive to human productivity than the compulsive need to pretend that people are interchangeable. No one ever sat next to their equal on either side, in any classroom, unless it was their identical twin or triplet. We are all unique, with different aptitudes, different motivations, different personalities. Egalitarian/Collectivism Sabotages Human Potential.

Obama seems not to be overlooking anything that he can do to damage the American future. Whether this is, as suggested above, a sign that he is running scared; it does fit in nicely with his other anti-social calls for "Change!"

Would that the election was tomorrow.

“The war on men continues..”

And, putting a quota system on our science, engineering and math programs will mean cuts in the spaces for men which will be unfilled as a lot of chicks do not want to enter these programs. The few that do now are actually very gifted, talented and motivated to be in these specialties. Better not to put on quotas as social engineering leads to less engineers, etc, overall.

They should apply this law specifically for attractive girls. Attractive girls are extremely underrepresented in science and tech.
