President Obama refused to apologize to Mitt Romney on Saturday, barnstorming through this swing state as his aides continued their attacks by releasing a new television ad that mockingly shows Mr. Romney singing America the Beautiful.
Mr. Obama, speaking to a drenched crowd during a downpour in this Richmond suburb, accused Mr. Romney of investing in companies that have been called pioneers in outsourcing. He ignored the demands for an apology about the campaigns tone that Mr. Romney had called for in interviews on Friday.

The other night I had a nightmare about Obama being the devil. I woke up with a rapid heartbeat and had trouble falling back to sleep.

“That is where we are. There is no perfect candidate.”
Sadly, we’ve reached a state in this country where those who would restore liberty, shrink the size of government, restore America’s confidence, and incentivize economic activity stand little chance of being elected in this era of massive government dependency, a visciously biased media, and a dumbed down populace. That’s just the reality that’s come about as a result of years of the welfare state, government largesse and central planning.
I’m not enthusiastic about Romney...but it’s pretty clear by now that he’s the card we have to play. The stark choice before us is one of electing a new, less than perfect candidate for a president, or coronating a dictator who will surely destroy what’s left of America’s greatness.
It may be that Romney could actually do fairly well as president, especially in the economic area. It wouldn’t be hard to surpass expectations based on the disastrous performance of the current occupant of the White House. Job #1 is getting the usurper out of office. Romney can always be replaced if he fails to perform.

Indeed. They need to read the posts here at FR and learn, that is, if they want to defeat BHO.

At a time when CONSERVATIVES SHOULD BE EVERYWHERE,
little pussy Willard HIDES.
Will he be out discussing CONSERVATIVE ISSUES
this Sunday?
I think not.
His wife has to defend him first.
Bain has to defend him first.
The Mormons have to defend him first.
Romney can just talk economy and allow Obama to hang himself. The poll numbers are not budging for Obama. He's stuck at the 45-47% mark. Not good for an incumbent who has just thrown the kitchen sink at his opponent.

Very different election...we have Obama’s economic record. Just keep on about the economy and allow Obama’s desperation to get the best of him. The current attacks on Romney aren’t working. Obama is desperate 4 months out. Never good for an incumbent.

FDR’s economic record of 17% unemployment? FRD’s funneling New Deal “stimulus” dollars to his corrupt cronies and campaign supporters? What’s so different this time?

1980 electionAtwater's aggressive tactics were first demonstrated during the 1980 congressional campaigns. He was a campaign consultant to Republican incumbent Floyd Spence in his campaign for Congress against Democratic nominee Tom Turnipseed. Atwater’s tactics in that campaign included push polling in the form of fake surveys by “independent pollsters” to inform white suburbanites that Turnipseed was a member of the NAACP. He also sent out last-minute letters from Sen. Strom Thurmond (R-S.C.) telling voters that Turnipseed would disarm America and turn it over to liberals and communists. At a press briefing, Atwater planted a “reporter” who rose and said, “We understand Turnipseed has had psychotic treatment.” Atwater later told the reporters off the record that Turnipseed “got hooked up to jumper cables” a reference to electroconvulsive therapy that Turnipseed underwent as a teenager.[4]
“Lee seemed to delight in making fun of a suicidal 16-year-old who was treated for depression with electroshock treatments”, Turnipseed recalled. “In fact, my struggle with depression as a student was no secret. I had talked about it in a widely covered news conference as early as 1977, when I was in the South Carolina State Senate. Since then I have often shared with appropriate groups the full story of my recovery to responsible adulthood as a professional, political and civic leader, husband and father. Teenage depression and suicide are major problems in America, and I believe my life offers hope to young people who are suffering with a constant fear of the future.”[4]
After the 1980 election, Atwater went to Washington and became an aide in the Ronald Reagan administration, working under political director Ed Rollins. In 1984, Rollins managed Reagan's re-election campaign, and Atwater became the campaign's deputy director and political director. Rollins tells several Atwater stories in his 1996 book Bare Knuckles and Back Rooms.[5] He states that Atwater ran a dirty tricks operation against vice-presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro including publicizing the fact that Ferraro's parents had been indicted of numbers running in the 1940s. Rollins also described Atwater as “ruthless”, “Ollie North in civilian clothes”, and someone who “just had to drive in one more stake”.
During his years in Washington, Atwater became aligned with Vice President George H.W. Bush, who chose Atwater to run his 1988 presidential campaign.

‘Romney’s people are running the same campaign that Alf Landon ran back then.’
Save a sunflower for the gas jets.
Mr. Obama accused Mr. Romney of investing in companies that have been called pioneers in outsourcing.
Isn’t Obummer just quoting himself or his advisors here?
I remember this tactic from my college newspaper, someone would write down a few “quotes”, have some others in the newsroom read them aloud, then attribute in his/her story that “some have said...”
Journalism has become so much a total sham!!! “Journalists” are dirtballs, too.
Just yesterday, I saw a headline of Biden telling NAACP that Romney would disenfranchise blacks’ votes if elected. the reporter reiterated it in the lead paragraph, but said nothing about it again for the remainder of the 15 paragraph story. HE DID NOT write how Biden explained to them how this would occur. HE DID NOT cite any experts detailing how this would come about. HE DID NOT... HE DID NOT...
He wrote all about something else just so the headline could wave out there.
A year ago, a local propagandist trucked down to Iowa to cover a Michelle Bachman speech. He quoted her three best sound bite lines in the first two paragraphs and spent the rest of his 26 paragraphs quoting others as to the possibilities of Bachman getting into the presidential race.
No wonder the voting public doesn’t know anything about what’s going on in this nation.
P.S. In 1976, I learned more about our presidential candidates’ stances from weekly articles (Jan to June)in the International Herald Tribune in Europe than I could get from American papers in daily articles from June to Nov. This is a big part of why I didn’t go into journalism.
