Commenters on the local newspaper story on this tragedy are pointing to nearby Section 8 housing as a source of problems in the area.

“Innocent bystander” — oh how I hate that term, especially in this situation where it appears the man in the store couldn’t even know he was a “bystander” since the incident was occurring outside the store. I can’t begin to imagine being a family member of the in-store victim.

Probobly true. Most of the people who live in that don't have anything to do all day except play scratch off lotto tickets, get drunk, get high, steal things, and cause trouble. I guess if we just gave them more of our hard earned cash they'd turn their lives around, get jobs, and become productive citizens.
