I think federally backed loans to those who have been wiped out are probably a pretty good use of govt. money. Most govt. money is currently squandered on crap. Better that the stimulus and other wasteful spending.If a govt. does not help its citizens in times of natural disaster when do they help? Are food stamps, welfare the best use? Hardly.The way money is wasted now compared to helping those who have been ravaged by natural disasters are two different worlds.
As long as we can justify it we will always have the government we have now.
We need a Calvin Coolidge who says “NO” to paying for acts of God.
