The club we belonged to when the kids were little had a full size Olympic pool. Any poop in that pool would shut it down for 3 or 4 days at a time! Five minutes is nuts and a serious public health hazard.

I live in NYC (Manhattan) and the city is turning back into the cess pool that Giuliani fixed. Yesterday morning, my kids got the chance to jump over a big pile of vomit on the sidewalk on our way to get some bagels for breakfast. As well as spying on the Puerto Ricans digging through the trash bags on our street looking for discarded electronics and other trinkets.

Enjoyed your post. I’ve visited the Bahamas. The Blacks speak the King’s English. They are upwardly mobile. I would imagine the poor Blacks in Haiti have better English skills and aspirations than these pool trash in NYC.

For 50 million, NYC could have built two $25 million dollar pools. Separate but Equal. And I’m serious.

They are not used here, because you can get clean water.

My daughter bought a bag them to Haiti last year. They look cute and all...but without them , many of the kids my daughter worked with would die from some water borne disease.

And the money to buy them was raised through the church.
