This is an indicator of the renewed legitimization of armed citizens that was common in the 1950's

The first prize is a Smith and Wesson M&P .40 caliber handgun. The second prize is a week-long vacation to Majahua Palms, Mexico...

Anybody winning the second prize better hope to win the first prize as well.

Benefit shoots at a local gun range usually include raffles for one or more firearms.

Sales of raffle tickets go like hotcakes.

I have not heard any numbers about wounded deputies, but a nearby city of 200,000 has not had a police officer killed in the line of duty since 1937.

None killed from any cause in 75 years.

Is the Mexico vacation a one-way trip?
