RE: It’s going to be Jindal. I’d be willing to be your house on it.

OK, but how does he stand the test of the Natural Born clause? Everytime either Jindal or Marco Rubio’s names are brought up, inevitably the question of meeting the constitutional requirement arises.

The NBC clause is a moot point. If the powers that be have no problem with a Kenyan in the White Hut, then certainly there is no obstacle with Jindal. He was born in the USA. That nowadays is all that matters.

NBC doesn’t matter, because it will never be heard in court.

1) The supreme court just did a pretzel twist to uphold ObamaCare. Do you think they will “unelect” a sitting VP? Never.

2) 98% of Americans believe natural born citizen means someone born a citizen. Neither the press or anyone else with a megaphone will do anything to change that opinion.

3) The courts refuse to even consider arguments about Obama’s NBC status.

Bottom line: the issue is moot. There is a new standard (thanks to Obama’s election): Born a citizen = natural born citizen.

We can scream and shout about it being wrong, but not a single court in the land—not one—would take up the case of Jindal not being a NBC; it would be thrown out before even getting a hearing.

The only chance to change this would be to get congress to pass a resolution defining NBC (something they could do, but won’t do anytime soon).

You’ve got to live in the world as it is. Jindal’s (or Rubino’s) NBC status would never be a problem, because no court would ever hear the case, much less find against them.

The issue is moot.

There is no question at all concerning Herman Cain and this imagined virtue of “natural born”. That meant something back in 1787, maybe, but not so much today.

Surprised, that he has not been heard in the mix.

All that supposed involvement back in Chicago was totally manufactured. Think David Axelrod, and look at the fingerprints connected with that attempted smear.

People need to distinguish between “originalism” and “literalism.” “Natural-born” was a term of art in the 18th century, and was used to bat foreign born princes from the presidency, such as Prince Henry of Prussia, the very able, and liberal, brother of Frederick the Great. The problem being, that the off-spring of great men are seldom great. or even competent. One reason why Washington decided not to be President for Life. He had no natural issue and his step-step son was a boob.
