Possible fraud involving 24,000 Minnesota driver’s licenses

The state of Minnesota has found nearly 24,000 possible cases of fraud involving driver’s licenses issued in the state, Fox Minneapolis reports. A facial recognition scan of the state’s 11 million photo database found nearly 1.3 million duplicates.

“There was about 23,000 records that we think are a good chance of being fraud,” (Doug Neville, communications director for the Minnesota Department of Public Safety) said.

23,705 cases of possible fraud to be exact.

People like Pedro Chavez, aka Jose Cisneros, or Carlos Santiago, or Antonia Ledesma — four separate Minnesota driver’s licenses.

Detectives say the Albert Lea man was illegally collecting welfare for a decade, using real Minnesota driver’s licenses obtained with phony documents. He was convicted of forgery, and deported.

So the illegal was convicted of forgery and deported. He was probably back the next week with another set of IDs.

Isn’t getting a ID an impossible hurdle? People will be disenfranchised when they are turned away at the voting booth if we pass voter ID laws.

Because it’s so hard to get a drivers license or state ID

See, this is why complaining about voter ID laws is preposterous — it’s so easy to get a photo ID, some people have more than one!

There are many people with duplicate licenses in Minnesota who are not illegal immigrants. Remain positive that we can clean up that problem! Fraud is so rampant that each state has to start somewhere. This is a good start. Every state should do this.

State ID issues like this are all related. If a state cleans up the ID process at the initial point, then over time it will help to clean up the voter fraud.

I think the point we’re trying to make is how the fraud-enablers always claim that voter ID is a “hurdle” or “barrier” too high to overcome for people. So, tongue-in-cheek, we’re pointing out hat it can’t be that big of an obstacle, seeing the people who can get more than one.

DFL Al Franken 1,212,629
GOP Norm Coleman 1,212,317

312 votes difference. With as many as 24,000 fraudulent votes.

These were probably obtained to commit identity theft or financial fraud not for multiple voting.

A birth-certificate (easy to fake, and it if’s out of state not going to be verified) and a utility bill to prove residence (also easy to fake) are all that are needed to get a driver’s license in many states.

Minnesota Gov. Dayton says that requiring a photo ID like a drivers license would stop minorities from voting. However, it would seem that getting a Minnesota drivers license isn’t that tough and even an illegal alien using an assumed name with phoney papers can have a photo ID.

Pawlenty bragged about Minnesota Nice’s squeaky clean vote counting system that likely stripped the Senate seat from Coleman and gave it to Franken. For me, that disqualifies Pawlenty from VP.

I just had to fight autofill to keep it from saying Frankenstein.

What's wrong with this picture?

1.3 million duplicates, and only 23,000 suspected cases of fraud?
