Charlie Sheen I'm Donating $1 MILLION to U.S. Troops
tmz ^ | 7/16 | tmz

Charlie Sheen hasn't spent all of his money on crack and hookers ... in fact, the Warlock has announced he's donating ONE MILLION DOLLARS to support our men and women in uniform.

Sheen has pledged to give at least $1 million to the U.S.O (United Service Org.) ... the largest single contribution the USO has ever received from an individual.

Sheen says he will donate 1% of the profits from his "Anger Management" earnings ... with a minimum of $1 mil ... and an unlimited cap. So the more $ he makes from his show, the more $ goes to the USO.

General John I. Pray, Jr., Executive Vice President and Joint Chief of Staff, U.S. Air Force released a statement saying, “[Sheen's] support is greatly appreciated, especially from our wounded warriors and their families.”

Sheen also released a statement saying, "It’s an honor for me to be able to give back to these men and women of the military who have done so much for all of us."

He adds, "They put their lives on the line for us every day, and I’m just happy that my work on 'Anger Management' can bring a little bit of relief to the troops and their families.”

I hope one day Charlie will realize how he got the last name of “Sheen.”

I think I could manage to keep the insults and name-calling to a minimum when a guy is doing something this generous for a cause as good as this one.

Of course when it comes to TMZ, it's about as 'bottom feeder' as it gets.

I will have to admit, that I do find it somewhat surprising that a member of the Sheen family would do something this pro-military.  At any rate, for this I give Charlie well-deserved kudos.

1% profit would be after agent fees , management fees, taxes, and whatever else gets cooked into it.

Thanks very “generous” of Charlie but how about an equal amount to the Wounded Warrior Project?

Here was Charlie’s condition when they mentioned his name for American Idol

“CONDITION #2. Charlie says the money has to be right: “If the numbers move the needle AND ‘Idol’ matches 20% of my weekly salary for Autism Speaks, JDRF, and the Boys and Girls Club ... then the hell with it. As we say, pour the smoke.”

That just means 1% of his paycheck. SAG dues, commissions to agents, taxes etc come out of his earnings before he sees it.

here’s more

http://www.celebuzz.com/2012-07-16/charlie-sheen-to-shell-out-1-million-to-uso-in-record-breaking-donation/

“The actor, 46, will Sheen will tender the first payment of $250,000 in a private ceremony later this week with Sloan D. Gibson, President and Chief Executive Officer of the USO.

The funds will benefit an entertainment facility for injured troops in Bethesda, Maryland.”

Don’t know if it is for the whole million or just the first payment

It’s still all about Charlie. This is just publicity for him and his new show.

Oh I am sure it is about publicity and he gets a tax write off.

It doesn't lessen his generousity. He could have given it to some liberal cause given that Hollywood is run by the libs

A real mensch would just give the USO the money and not make a publicity stunt out of it.....he’s an asshole.

Not a big fan of the man, but credit where credit is due.

Let’s hope this is the start of a new trend with his Hollywood friends.

Maybe it is, I don’t know.

But you know, when taking into consideration the; hollywierd environment he grew up in, rabid anti-American, pro-communist father, etc. I’m willing to give him some benefit of the doubt.

I’m not familiar with the show. Hopefully, this generosity means he’s finally growing up. That would be a good thing.
