In 2008, I voted at my precinct in southwest Minneapolis.
I gave the pollworker my name and address and and she was looking for it, I asked her “How do you even know if I’m Steve S......? You do realize that I could walk in here and vote under someone else’s name - right?”
I didn’t say it loudly and I didn’t say it with any anger or sarcasm in my voice. The pollworker stopped and looked at me as if I just asked her if she was a space alien too. The pollworker next to her chimed in and told me not to make trouble.
I laughed at both of them, this time in a sarcastic tone and reminded them “You know, you really have no idea if I am who I’m claiming to be”.
You know what? I got the feeling that they truly didn’t care if I committed voter fraud or not.

They probably figured you where going to vote for “their
guy anyway. What are the odds of someone in Minneapolis voting republican?
I think you might be the last one in the city that would.
Keep your gun close and your powder dry.
Hey Steve - do you have a feel - or have you seen any local commentary - on how the SCourt will call this one?
