Left-wing president favors the collective over individual initiative
President Obama thinks business owners don’t actually do anything. This is the most convincing proof yet that he has no concept of how the economy works.
At a rally in Roanoke, Va., last week, Mr. Obama was trying to justify new tax increases on upper-income Americans by saying that no one in this country makes it alone. “If you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own,” he said. It is true that people’s lives are influenced by others — most importantly parents, then teachers, friends and professional colleagues. But in Mr. Obama’s mind, individuals owe a collective debt to people they have never met, those who built the political system, those who created the economy and — most fundamentally — to an all-wise, beneficent government.
“If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that,” Mr. Obama continued. “Somebody else made that happen.” This claim would come as a surprise to the small-business owners who have invested their lives and life savings in making a go of it. It would be a shock to inventors and innovators who have been the drivers of America’s technological edge. It does make sense, however, coming from someone who has never had a job that didn’t depend on patronage and has spent his entire career getting ahead on identity and charisma instead of creativity and achievement.

I hope that the Romney camp will get this word out and keep doing so between now and November 6th. NO business person in America should vote for this guy. But, whaddya wanna bet that some will?

I think that Obama and the rest of the left care only about power. That’s the only thing that would explain Obama’s incredible contention that “If you’ve got a business, you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen.” He knows that it’s private initiative creates prosperity, and that our free market economy therefore makes people like him irrelevant.
Either that, or you are one hundred percent correct about the complete idiot thing.

BTW, If Obama is right that you owe any success in your worthless, miserable life to “GOVERNMENT RESEARCH,” then if ANY failure comes your way it is NEVER your fault.
“The Government made me do it!” becomes the always handy excuse.
“If you’ve got a college degree via affirmative action, you didn’t build that. Someone else made it happen.”
Realistically you can see why Obama sees the nation this way. He, himself, climbed the “token ladder” and earned none of what he has. As our first “token” President, who was given what he has based on falling into a minority set-aside all the way to the top (and on the backs of taxpayers) it is understandable that he actually believes what he is saying. What he doesn’t realize (or more likely doesn’t care about) is that the average small businessman (or large businessman) actually earned what he had rather than having it handed to him based on falling into a “special” group.
