Boy Scouts reaffirm ban on gays

NEW YORK (AP) - After a confidential two-year review, the Boy Scouts of America on Tuesday emphatically reaffirmed its policy of excluding gays, ruling out any changes despite relentless protest campaigns by some critics.

An 11-member special committee, formed discreetly by top Scout leaders in 2010, "came to the conclusion that this policy is absolutely the best policy for the Boy Scouts," the organization' national spokesman, Deron Smith, told The Associated Press.

Let me get this straight. As a man in my 30s, common sense says I shouldn’t be showering or sleeping in the same tent with a teen girl, the only exception being if that is my own daughter. The logic runs back the same way with the BSA. The BSA doesn’t want people who would be sexually attracted to be alone together. How much more common sense can this get?

WTH is wrong with no one under 18 being an Olympic Volunteer, setting up the Olympics sounds like a job for adults anyways. 2002 was a good year for plenty of the U.S. Winter Team anyways.

I didn’t agree or disagree with the decision.

Romney gets blamed for “kicking” the Scouts out of the Olympics when he had nothing to do with it, it was Olympic policy.
