As Creeping Sharia asks, "Is this even legal?" How many post offices operate out of churches and synagogues?
"New Islamic Community Center opens in Plymouth," by Renee Tessman for KARE11.com, July 8 (thanks to Creeping Sharia):
PLYMOUTH, Minn. - Muslim families in the west metro suburbs now have a new place of worship.
They celebrated the grand opening of the NorthWest Islamic Community Center in Plymouth on Saturday.
Nausheena Hussain said, "It's really exciting to see the community come out and support it and it's not just for Muslims. There are a lot of neighbors here, a lot of our interfaith partners, so it's really, really just an exciting time for us."
Hussain felt Saturday's celebration was important because last year, she said, "we were fighting to get this establishment put up."
Despite some neighborhood opposition, the Plymouth City Council gave its approval to the center last August....
So now Plymouth has its own mosque in a former post office building at 3300 Plymouth Boulevard. The center will also have rooms available for rent to the community for those who may want to use the space....
The Northwest Islamic Community Center is also leasing back some space to the post office so the branch can stay open.
Mateen Ali said, "There are a lot of post offices that are shutting down across the country so this worked out to be just a great win, win situation for our Plymouth community, but also our Muslim community."...
Ping!
That’s what they’re doing in NYC, too. A community center mocking 9-11...ain’t that special.
It is extremely common for church basements to be used for voting booths.
I do not know if Muslims have holy vs. not so holy spots inside mosques. What happens when I order a salami apizza from Modern Apizza in New Haven on dry ice, for instance? Or what about the customer with the seeing eye dog?
Can I pick up mail order pork there?
Makes it easier for the muzzies to get their letter bombs out on time.
“All your Domestic Violence needs in one convenient stop...”
There was a brotherhood in New England that had it's own ZIP Code, and a post office, inside ~ to make things easier for them to do their commercial mailing.
USPS paid rent on a large box in the middle of Adak Island ~ that's where the mail was stored so people could come and dig through it to find anything interesting.
A boat was contracted to meet ships in the Detroit River as they moved through the Great Lakes.
Mules served to carry mail down to the bottom of the Grand Canyon to an Indian village ~ they were rented.
What else did somebody need to know ~ a station in a former post office building is not unusual. A church/mosque/temple or whathave you in the rest of it is not unusual either ~ in fact, the old Northern Virginia Sectional Center was in the back of a Toys R Us store in Annandale VA.
Buildings are buildings. Space is space. Just bricks and mortar to the mail.
Send more pork.
What about the “separation of church and state”?
Oops! That only applies to Christian churches that don’t worship at the altar of socialism.
” Buildings are buildings. Space is space. Just bricks and mortar to the mail.”
Mail a country ham to General Delivery, to be picked up at the counter in the post office in the mosque. We’ll see if the landlord acts like it’s just a bricks & mortar building... ;~}
What’s really scary is how fast this is all happening. Thirty years ago most people had no idea about islam. Now when they open a new “place of worship” it’s not that big a deal.
Come on, this crap writes itself...
A POST OFFICE .......INSIDE a MOSQUE......?
If there’s one business we’d ever place INSIDE A MOSQUE, who’d think the first and best one would be a POST OFFICE..?!?!? REALLY?????
My Gosh, I can’t tell the primer from the gunpowder. Seriously.
FINALLY, a post office that will be OPEN on Christmas!
How many are State funded mosques?
Not US funded (although there is money going to pay for RENT for this US Post Office), but SAUDI STATE FUNDED?
Who ever said our separation of church and state establishment of religion was only a restriction on OUR government establishing religious colonies in America and setting up theocratic courts?
The operation of a mosque in some other part of the building will have nothing to do with the continuation of the postal operations in the part that had been a postal retail station.
Read the first amendment ~ it refers to CONGRESS ~ Saudi Arabia is not Congress.
I still oppose a foreign government funding the establishment of Islamic theocratic colonies in my nation.
I suspect our treaty with Saudi agrees to not violate their laws. That treaty probably has the Saudis agreeing to not violate our laws.
Obviously that sort of thing allows the Saudis to sponsor religious institutions and schools in this country.
We probably ought to REVISE our treaties with these guys.
The religious institutions they fund bind allegiance to the Islamic capital in Saudi Arabia such that the followers bow to it 5 times a day, everyday.
There are subversive texts supplied to American students to indoctrinate them in Islamist supremacist thought (not merely that theirs is the “true” path, but that Jews are sub-human offspring from pigs and monkeys).
There are Islamist Imam who indoctrinate their followers to not raise up arms against Islamic nations (never mind that many of the wars in the world today find one or both sides being waged entirely by Islamists).
It is seditious imperialist financing. It is beyond mere religious funding. And there is no cultural exchange. Saudi Arabia seizes privately owned Bibles and other religious texts, then burns them.
