BLISSFIELD, Mich.
The U.S. Marshals Service is now involved in the search for Thomas Jack Fritz, who is wanted for questioning in the Friday night shooting deaths of two women in Blissfield.
He may be in Ohio or may be headed to Texas, where he has relatives, said Sgt. Aaron Hunt of the Adrian detachment of the Michigan State Police Monroe post.
He could be anywhere in the United States by now, Hunt said Sunday evening.
Amy Merrill, 34, and Lisa Gritzmaker, 24, were shot to death around 11:40 p.m. Friday at Merrills North Lane Street home. Their mother, Robin McCowan, was injured in the shooting.
Friends said Gritzmaker was pregnant with her third child.
Hunt said Fritz had known Merrill a few years and had lived with her for several weeks before she told him to move out a few weeks ago. Family members told police he had been exhibiting stalking-type behavior and had been sending her text messages that were aggressive in nature.
The process of identifying Fritz was hampered because it appears he had been deceiving people about his real name, Hunt said. Authorities initially thought they were looking for a man named Tom Konig.
Hunt said a witness who arrived on the scene just as Fritz was leaving was able to provide the description of the car he was driving. The car, a burgundy or maroon Honda four-door with Ohio license plate EQP 8075, is registered to one of Fritzs relatives.
Fritz was incarcerated for one year for a 2007 sexual battery conviction in Wood County, Ohio, according to the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction. The Lucas County Sheriffs Office sex offender registry lists his most recent known address as Sylvania.
U.S. marshals have joined the 1st District Fugitive Team of the Michigan State Police in searching for Fritz, Hunt said.
Hunt said the investigation has been a collaborative effort and praised the work of the Lenawee County central dispatch team.
They did an awesome job trying to filter and disseminate information, he said.
Thanks.

Nor me Crip but TX is really big. Where do his kin live? I’m in Midland now and see plates from every midwest state every day.
Sounds like his kinfolk are all in Ohio.
From the OP:
“may be headed to Texas, where he has relatives”
If he is headed for West Texas, I can keep an eye out...
I’m kinda hoping he chooses the hard way.
uuuuuhhh, the traditional suicide-by-cop route?
Less cost.
Self inflicted works too.
Good news, the perp has been found dead in West Virginia.
You sure saw that one coming.
