Gay Couples Challenge North Carolina Law
ABC News ^ | July 17 2012 | Susan Donaldson James

For nearly seven years, Dale Liuzza raised his son as the caregiving parent in a gay relationship.

The boy was conceived through a surrogate, a donor egg and a mixture of sperm from both his dads.

"We didn't know or care about the biology," said Liuzza, 31, and a behavioral therapist who works with autistic children in New Orleans. "I pretty much raised him. As far as I was concerned, I carried him."

But when the men's relationship fell apart, his partner determined he was the biological father and took the boy out of state to Texas and eventually to Washington State.

Louisiana does not recognize same-sex marriage or second-parent adoption, so Liuzza was left with no legal parental rights.

"I never imagined he would move out of state and I would have no say in the matter at all," he said. "I don't sleep at night thinking about [the child]."

.. . n North Carolina, for example, second-parent adoptions for same-sex couples were outlawed in 2010. Only stepparents who are legal spouses or the biological parent can adopt. Gay marriage is not legal in that state.

Even those couples who lived in "friendly counties" around the state's urban centers who previously had such rights, had them revoked when a judge invalidated their adoptions.

Now, with the help of the American Civil Liberties Union, six same-sex couples have filed a lawsuit to fight the ban , saying it violates their constitutional rights and is discriminatory. They hope to take it to the Supreme Court.

"The boy was conceived through a surrogate, a donor egg and a mixture of sperm from both his dads."

This sentence is horrifying, and it makes me respect those countries where this sort of thing is illegal, not only for gay but for straight couples. Reproductive technology has something evil about it. Patchwork families bespeak craziness. And now they want legislation so that all these sources will be listed as "parents". I feel sorry for these kids, brought into the world in such an odd and alienated way.

Poor kid. I’d take him from both of these guys and get him some real parents.

If it’s his biological child, he’s the father, just as a heterosexual man would be. If he’s living with the biological father, he’s not the father, same for anyone else. The recent referendum did not change any of that.

Oxymoron.

Gay Couples Sodomites Challenge North Carolina Law

Too bad the media continues to use the word GAY instead of the simple word SODOMITES . . . or perhaps HOMOSEXUALS. If they're so proud of their disgusting behavior, why would they object?

Exactly. Nothing unjust about it, simply decent common sense.

What bothers me as well, is these 2 men got together in a gay relationship, knowing gay marriage was ILLEGAL, and DELIBERATELY created a child using reproductive technology. Was he their show piece? Something to brag about? It is NOT like when a straight couple NATURALLY conceive, a child is born, and then the couple splits. (that is bad enough, of course). But this was done deliberately. Bad as abortion, to my sensibilities. This whole topic sickens me: Adults selfishly not only using, but creating, children.

When the referendum passed, there was wailing and gnashing of teeth, of course, but in reality, nothing changed. The constitutional amendment simply added a layer of authority to what was already statute law.

If the man in question is the father of the child, then he is. Genetic testing, in the absence of other information, can say yes or no. If he’s not the father, then he has no more rights over the child than any other person who happened to have sex with the father at some point ... and that’s the way it should be.

Imagine you’re Random Man X. Do you want every woman you ever have sex with to be able to claim your children are hers, and to be able to demand you support her and them, independent of you? That’s what you’ll get, if you say any passing sex partner has parental rights.

It's the liberals MO. They put a pretty face on the vilest of passions. For example, what is "choice?" It's the brutal dismemberment of a human infant from it's mothers womb while it's still alive.
See the difference? People don't realize the horror when it's referred to as a "woman's choice." If you bring their attention to what it really is, they go into shock.

Actually its not ...

Its fascinating...

How far people will go to be stupid...

It sounds scientific but its not...

Convenional science has been thrown out the window and voodoo “new science” appears to be involved...

The sperm from both men was put in a petri dish with the idea that the sperm would “mix” and then fertilize the egg and thus the resulting in a child “fathered” by them both...

However as of old, only ONE sperm actually fertilizes the egg, and no more...

Only one of them is the biological father...

A blood test can easily take care of this case...

But when the men's relationship fell apart,. . .

That's how it works--"marriage" or none, child or none. But in cases like this, an already seriously damaged child invariably ends up getting hurt even worse when his "daddies" introduce a whole new level of drama into an already disfunctional household. Not that the gay "marriage" crew care, however, because it's all about progressive intentions--and never, ever about the welfare of children.

Disgustingly unnatural. When man plays God, the results are terrible.

what a shame that this sodomite comes from such a fine, respectable family in SE Louisiana...I’m sure they’re proud of him. Guess he lived a little too close to New Orleans growing up....

Right. Adults and their pride, their whims, their egos and lifestyle choices come first. Children are just along for the ride. Very much like in the 1970s and ‘80s divorce craze. All kinds of rationalizations and justifications: “Me, selfish? No, I am part of a new progressive movement; a fascinating evolution of the individual and his new array of choices and technology, blah blah blah.....”

"I don't sleep at night thinking about [the child]."

I wonder if this person is letting on more than he intends with this statement.

His familiarity with his former partner's sexual dysfunction probably scares him to death when he thinks about his child.

Romans 1

24 Therefore God gave them over in the sinful desires of their hearts to sexual impurity for the degrading of their bodies with one another. 25 They exchanged the truth about God for a lie, and worshiped and served created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised. Amen.

26 Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural sexual relations for unnatural ones. 27 In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed shameful acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their error.

28 Furthermore, just as they did not think it worthwhile to retain the knowledge of God, so God gave them over to a depraved mind, so that they do what ought not to be done. 29 They have become filled with every kind of wickedness, evil, greed and depravity. They are full of envy, murder, strife, deceit and malice. They are gossips, 30 slanderers, God-haters, insolent, arrogant and boastful; they INVENT ways of doing evil; they disobey their parents; 31 they have no understanding, no fidelity, no love, no mercy. 32 Although they know God’s righteous decree that those who do such things deserve death, they not only continue to do these very things but ALSO approve of those who practice them.

Maybe even more scarey is the Genetic Engineering that is going on where the child has actual DNA from three parents.

I actually thought you must be mistaken or joking. So I googled it, and this link popped up. Shocking and depressing.

“Babies with three parents and fewer genetic diseases might soon be possible: A UK national health panel has found that techniques for swapping chromosomes between eggs so offspring don’t inherit disease-causing mutations from their mother’s mitochondria are not dangerous. The techniques, which have been tested in mice, monkeys, and human cells, still need to be studied more before making the transfer to the clinic, though, and as with all genetic engineering techniques, there’s a complex ethical maze ahead of researchers. “

You have a child? You didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen!
