. - Despite more Granite Staters disapproving of the job he has done, President Barack Obama still holds a slim lead over Republican Mitt Romney in a new poll. RelatedResidents try to escape hot, humid... Million-dollar lottery ticket sold in... O’Brien seeks stats on relatives... Nothing found in river search for... List of cooling centers across state The WMUR Granite State Poll shows that 49 percent of likely New Hampshire voters said they will vote for Obama, compared to 45 percent who plan to vote for Romney. In April, Obama held a 9-point lead over Romney.

The poll of 521 New Hampshire adults was conducted by the University of New Hampshire Survey Center by landline and cellphone from July 5 through July 15. The margin of sampling error for the survey is plus or minus 4.3 percentage points.

The poll includes a subsample of 470 likely general election voters with a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4.5 percentage points.

The poll shows the candidates have locked up their party bases, with 89 percent of Democrats saying they will vote for Obama and 86 percent of Republicans saying they plant to vote for Romney. Independents are split evenly, with 41 percent favoring Romney and 40 percent supporting Obama.

"This election looks to be as close as the 2000 and 2004 elections in New Hampshire," said Andrew Smith, director of the UNH Survey Center. "In both of those elections, the race was won by about 1 percentage point."

Obama’s approval ratings continue to slip as evidence of his failure shows up everywhere. Even the MSM can’t hide it. Romney ought to attack, but I think he’s holding his fire until after the convention.

In 2010 New Hampshire traded in her two Congresscritters (both Maoist Rats) for Republicans and sent a Republican to the Senate.Just a few weeks ago the New Hampshire legislature overrode a veto by the Rat Governor and enacted a voter ID law. That doesn't sound like a state that's ready to elect a proven failure of a Maoist to the Presidency.

Whatever.

All that matters is this: what was the percentage of D's in the sample, and what was the percentage of R's.

I heard today on John Gibson that Romney is not allowed to spend much money right now. He basically can only spend money that was collected for the primaries, and can’t spend his “war chest” until he’s actually the nominee after the convention. Obama doesn’t have the same issue.

“The president’s approval ratings show a partisan split, with 87 percent of Democrats approving of the job he has done, compared to 41 percent of independents and 9 percent of Republicans”

Who are these 9% of Republicans that approve of the job Obama has done? Either they are drunk or black, take your choice.

Well, if they are doing ANY call sampling over the weekends, all the Massholes who come up to NH to spend their weekends will skew the numbers quite a bit if they pick up the phone and take these 'surveys'.

I head up to the Lakes Region every weekend myself, and there are a hell of a lot of Romney signs dotting the landscape..

No,no,no...don't be silly.He/she is a member of a fairly large group here that are far too "principled" to vote for *either* of the Marxist candidates and will vote for some Perot-like clown who, unlike Perot, might get 2% of the popular votes but, like Perot, will garner approximately zero Electoral votes. And this election is sure to be so close,EV-wise,that that 2% could well get us "4 more years".Hey,Nader cost algore the WH in 2000 (Florida,New Hampshire and others) so....

Many times we have people who post a two or three word summary. I guess they are parsimonious with their bandwith.

The we have others who include wonderful nuggets in their summaries such as “RelatedResidents try to escape hot, humid... Million-dollar lottery ticket sold in... O’Brien seeks stats on relatives... Nothing found in river search for... List of cooling centers across state “

It’s like finding an Easter Egg!

Nonsense. Mr. RomneyCARE DEFENDS Obama.

Romney: "Obama was born in the United States"

Romney: "Obama Doesn’t Need a Birth Certificate"

Romney: "The citizenship test has been passed"

Mitt Romney Sends Leftover Pizza to Obama Chicago HQ
After spending the day in Chicago fundraising, Mitt Romney
sat down with small business owners at Gino's East,
a pizza joint famous for their deep-dish pizza.
In fact, Romney himself tweeted a photo of a
delivery boy heading out with the loot, writing,
"Great deep dish at @ginoseast.
Sending the extra slices to @barackobama and his Chicago HQ team."

The only “miracle” you’re going to get is if you don’t vote - then it will be a miracle if we have a nation once zero gets re-elected. That’s the cold-hard facts!

And Michigan.

I think he’ll take NH and he has a shot in MI.

MA and CA give me a break, no Republican could win those.
