NY Times: Romney has Slight Edge in Poll

A new poll by the New York Times gives Mitt Romney a slight edge over President Obama, as Americans’ disapproval of Obama’s handling of the economy grows:

With job growth tailing off since spring and the Federal Reserve chairman, Ben S. Bernanke, wondering aloud whether the labor market is “stuck in the mud,” the poll showed a significant shift in opinion about Mr. Obama’s handling of the economy, with 39 percent now saying they approved and 55 percent saying they disapproved.

In the Times/CBS poll in April, when the economy seemed to be gaining momentum, 44 percent approved and 48 percent disapproved.

For all of the Washington chatter that Mr. Romney’s campaign has seemed off-kilter amid attacks on his tenure at Bain Capital and his unwillingness to release more of his tax returns, the poll shows that the race remains essentially tied, with 45 percent saying they would vote for Mr. Romney if the election were held now and 43 percent saying they would vote for Mr. Obama.

If the NYT is on record saying it’s close, Bambi is in big trouble........

If the NYT is saying “slight lead” Mitt must be leading by 15-20 points.

No doubt you are right.

I was just a young kid during the 1980 election and the liberal media was carrying water for Carter until the very end and he got slaughtered.

And the same thing happened with the 94 election when the GOP blew out the liberal Democratic Congress.

And the same thing happened when Bush beat Kerry also.

Romney is probably 10 points ahead, at least.

Internal polls are the “real” ones, but we don’t usually get to see those. If the Romney team is holding fast on releasing more tax returns, that tells me that they know they’re winning where it counts and don’t have to dance to the media’s tune.

Compare this to the Reagan Carter election and Obamer is outta here. Reagan was well behind at this point.

Mitts crew is playing it a bit to coy though. I’d level a few at the Nazis just to throw them off. Hell, they got so much to chuck at the bastards they could do one a day till the election and NEVER run out of ammo.

Actually, the country is in big trouble if after all this massive economic mess, scandal, crony capitalism, widespread dishonesty, and corruption, humongus debts; a weakened nationaly security, deliberate un-enforcement of our immigration laws, a foreign policy in tatters, that Obama and Romney are only a couple of points apart (dead heat). One by one formerly solid red states are turning purple to blue. Before long Texas will be a swing state as well. This nation is screwed. Face reality. The socialists are winning day by day. Demography is destiny and so it sadly is.
