Yup. John has configured a kick butt replacement system, is just working on the final details now. Hope to get it ordered and installed soon. We’ve already raised $6,000 of the $12,000 needed for it and will finance the rest (hopefully at 0% interest from the vendor). Praying for the best!!

East/West connections are getting stuck near Newton, Kansas. This affected only a few web sites. No chatter about it on the usual tech/political sites - aside from this thread.
Routers involved include (not limited to) 71.xx.xx.xx 12.xx.xx.xx - all at same location in Kansas. May take 24+ hours for all FR members, or could have already resolved for FR - but other sites still down.
Or maybe the routers in Kansas are fine but can’t find the next backbone link - I noticed the same backbone IP address 63.xx.xx.xx reported as being in Glen Burnie MD and Denver CO, which is informative of the underlying issue.
Whew.....I was having withdrawals.
So would I. But not a new server. A standby server that could be swapped out in minutes while the main server is being diagnosed and fixed.
It wouldn't need to have search capabilities, zero bells and whistles, no old threads and posts, just current posts to communicate between the masters and the common folk...
OK I'm not a computer geek, so what do I know?
