COLUMBUS, Ohio - Police said Tuesday that a pizza delivery driver shot at two people who attempted to rob him.

According to police, the Padova’s Pizza delivery driver was delivering a pizza when two men armed with shotguns approached him, in the 5000 block of Hatfield Dr., at about 11:45 p.m. Monday.

The driver, who was licensed to carry a gun, told the men to stay away from him. When the men continued to approach the driver, he shot at them. One of the alleged would-be robbers was found a short distance away, on Rutledge Drive, with wounds to his face, chest and thigh.

“He immediately pulled out his gun, fired five to six rounds, definitely hit one that we know of,” said Madison Township police Det. James Galvin.

Police said that this would have been the second pizza delivery driver robbed in the area in a week and were working to learn if there was a connection.

The man who was struck by bullets, identified as 20-year-old Cortez Bradley, was transported to Grant Medical Center. Investigators said that the second suspected robber, Bradley’s 16-year-old cousin, fled the scene and sent a text messages to family members, indicating that he was shot twice.

Padova’s Pizza owner Robert Steven said that he has been robbed a number of times and said that he gives all his employees the same advice.

“My drivers are told to give them what they want and get out of there,” Steven said.

Steven said that he was concerned with how his long-time employee would deal with the shooting.

And your Bro knows what anyone in the street knows: It ain’t about the exchange, its about ENDING the exchange.

Ask your Bro if he wants to stop any more .25’s just for fun.

Duck, cause he’s gonna swing on you.

Don’t load it with birdshot. Load it with buckshot or maybe slugs. Better yet, just load it with .45.

Did you read the results of the test on the last page?

Lessons learned:

1. Jack bought this pistol for snakes and it looks like a fine tool for that job.

2. Birdshot, in any gauge, is for little birds.

3. Buckshot out of a .410 does not penetrate enough to be an effective personal defense load.

4. The rifled slug was also a disappointment and did not have enough weight or power or penetration to be effective as a defense load.

- - - - - - -

The .410 shotgun shell was not designed to be shot out of such a short barrel and the results show it.

Well, in all fairness, my “bro” (though I detest that term as of even lower character than “dude”), was at the time lying naked in bed, having answered a personal add in The Bachelor’s Beat newspaper (still more credible than the NYT), next to an equally nude woman who had neglected to inform him that she was married, and that her husband was both intensely jealous and extremely violent.

Who had, at the time, inopportunely returned to visit his wrath, not on his duplicitous wife, but on the helpless stranger seduced into her graces.

In any event, after his arrival, he held my friend at gunpoint, obliging him to make a phone call to his somewhat puzzled employer to tell him in no uncertain terms that he was of low character. And then the husband shot him, a lot.

He never explained how he was able to depart the place, nor get appropriate medical care in a timely manner, and I did not inquire, as his physical appearance in the dojo changing room was dramatic enough. He was though, courteous enough to provide some of the more entertaining details, of which I felt no inclination to question.

Glad he’s up and about. .25s have in fact killed a lot of people.

As far as bro and dude, I’m a biker. “Bro” is a part of my lifestyle lexicon. I’m old, “dude” is a term I’ve used for years. Just like my sideburns, some years they are in style, some they are out of style. I wear them anyway, in or out of style, because its who I am, and I’m not going to change because someone else thinks I look old and tacky, even though I may in fact BE Old and Tacky!

There’s a difference between talking and writing. A lot of corporations now require their employees to have someone look at their emails before they send them outside of the company, because it is just too easy for them to be mis-read and tick off somebody and lose a customer.

That’s the reason I take it up a notch in formality when writing on FR, the same as you might if you were talking to an LEO, or a preacher, instead of a friend. You don’t want for him to think you are being aggressive, or even passive-aggressive, giving him lip, dissing him, or all the other stuff people think others are doing when they aren’t.

People are just not that hot in guessing what other people are thinking.

LOL

Hey Bro, dudes like me, at my point of life, just don’t give a rats a$$.

Once upon a time, I MIGHT have thought it through like that, but even then, I wouldn’t change what I was to make someone think I was something I wasn’t. My customers were my “birds of a feather.”

Check my tag line: “And I Hope They Don’t Like It.” That’s heartfelt.

Have a good life and prosper Bro, and I really mean that.
