(Reuters) - The Department of Defense will allow active duty members of all branches of the U.S. military to don their service uniforms while marching in the upcoming San Diego gay pride parade, event organizers said on Thursday.
The move, announced the day before the weekend festivities are to begin, comes in the wake of a repeal that went into effect last September of the "Don't Ask, Don't Tell" law, under which homosexuals were allowed to serve in the military only if they did not divulge their sexual orientation.
San Diego has a large military presence due to its naval base and the nearby Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton.
"We are hopeful that those who have feared coming to share in the joy of Pride out of concern for losing their military careers will be able to finally celebrate their full and complete selves," San Diego LGBT Pride, the organizer of the event, said in a statement.

I’m so, so glad I left the military in 1984. It sickens me now. I’ve three sons who serve or served.....I could no longer recommend the military to anyone.

Gays are 2% of the population.... And of that 2% not all want to go into the military. Gay propagandists want us to believe gays outnumber straights - it’s not true. WE need to take a deep breath - it’s 98 straights for every 2 gays.
Can’t wear your uniform to a political rally/protest, or say “Jesus” at a prayer meeting, but by golly you sure can appear at the gay-pride event in uniform!

You used the word "gay" twice in your comment to me. They are homosexuals, pure and simple. "Gay" means happy. I'm not criticizing you as much as I have contempt for all the media, including FOX news and Rush, etc., who keep using GAY to describe these sodomites.
If they're so proud of being disgusting perverts, then they should be thrilled to be labeled "homosexuals." It's grossly misleading, especially to our children who're getting indoctrinated everyday into accepting these pillow-biters as "GAY" . . . kind of a happy term . . . when they should always be called what they are: SODOMITES or HOMOSEXUALS.
