Wow - they really needed a new study to show this? Could nature be trying to say something here? And what a fist in the eye to the LGBTQ mantra that "AIDS is NOT a gay disease: It is everyone's disease." I think someone is contradicting you.

I showed this to Captain Obvious, but he said he’s tired of flying through homo-research threads.

In fact, if that kind of intercourse was only as risky as vaginal intercourse, researchers report, HIV cases among gay and bisexual men would shrink dramatically. It would go down even more, they added, if their rates of casual sex declinedDuh! Wow, was this taxpayer money that went to discover the obvious. Didn't Andy Rooney nearly lose his job for including AIDs as one of those diseases that is a "lifestyle" disease? So, now, are we allowed to say that AIDs is something that gays get because of their lifestyle? Or, will we be seeing the article in a day or so that tells us the researchers are under attack and their dismissal is being called for?

Another study suggests the greater use of prevention approaches .... There are existing technologies, but we need to put them together" A tattoo like this is all the technology that's needed.

Wow. Sticking someone’s penis up your butt could have adverse health consequences? Who would have ever guessed?
I wonder if frequenting gay bath houses and having hundreds of different partners stuck their naughty bits up your butt could possibly increase the risk?

You have to understand very little about biology to understand the following: the intestines are an open doorway to the bloodstream.
When you swallow something, it basically gets dissolved and deconstructed by stomach acid before it goes into the intestines and into the bloodstream. When you take something in through the rectum, there is no acid. Whatever you put in there, goes directly into the bloodstream.
Is this so difficult to understand?

Maybe you've seen the photos of homos with AIDs. Shrunken cheeks, spotted, like death eating a cracker. Odd that they don't include what they did to contract that illness. Then they had the effrontery to claim "We all have AIDs." They paint a health epidemic as a civil rights issue. It's no wonder black pastors (at least claiming to) disown Obama on this issue.

Yeah, sure, it’s the “biology” that makes them susceptible,
not the sodomy.
Uh-huh.

“Biology” has nothing to do with it. Aberrant behavior has everything to do with it.

I guess the health nazis and large companies will start charging higher insurance fees for homosexual males the way they do for those deemed to be overweight, right? Will they hound gay males about their sexual practices the way they nag others about their cholesterol, etc.? Not likely.

Anal sex is filthy...? For that taxpayers had to fund a study. Maybe we could get a research grant to study the harmful effects of drinking toilet water.

Yeah, sure, its the biology that makes them susceptible,
not the sodomy. Well, given how they're [ab]using their bodies in a way that the biology makes them susceptible there is a certain amount of truth to that first part... but like your last part notes: it's the sodomy which is the abuse.

Ha, this video about sizes up the advocacy attitude!
Seriously, they have been beating that drum so long of “AIDs is not a gay disease, it is everyone’s disease” so that even someone in a chaste marriage and living a Christian life must also live in fear of AIDS, because ya just never know who will get it next. Why bother changing your behavior, because after all, AIDs is everyone’s disease. Talk about DENIAL...

Perhaps you meant raw sewage.

That's not true. The mucosa is the membrane lining the colon and rectum, and while you are correct in that there is no acid there to protect against most (but not all--see
H. pylori) organisms, what is in the colon does not go directly into the bloodstream: it must be absorbed across the membrane.
There are probably a few reasons why anal intercourse is so much more risky (for the HIV as well as other infectious agents), for example, the vaginal mucosa is built for intercourse and is constructed differently than the colon--this makes the anal/colonic mucosa more susceptible to tearing and that's when the HIV could gain access to the bloodstream. Further, the immune reaction and defenses are more robust in the vagina.
