best bet is to find one chambered in 5.56 NATO - strong enough for the higher pressures in the military round, so more than plenty for the commercial .223.

...but still not enough for the dreaded .233 round - serious overpressure with that one in a 5.56 chamber.

So what? He had no criminal record then and was a law-abiding citizen at the time he bought his guns.

We can’t read people’s minds. What the heck does this have to do with the price of tea in China?

James Holmes was within his rights to buy guns. He was not within his rights to murder people.

Agree. Wonder what the computer forensics on his PC say....

What is the Tennessee license plate on the car about? Was is a rental?

Dont go all smart azz- one of my questions was where he got training.

Your citizen- wife got tactical weapons TRAINING, didn’t she? Has she bought tear gas canisters too?

Public records show this psycho buying his guns in the last 30 days.

Maybe unlike me he is “smart” and a fast learner on how to use multiple weapons to carry a nighttime assault in a tear gas environment... by reading manuals or playing Guitar Hero.

So smart man, I’ve had training in being tear gassed. Have you and your tactically proficient wife tossed a gas canister into a closed setting in the dark, masked up, and gone shooting with multiple reloads? You think he never trained to use tear gas, never loaded or fired an assault weapon, never reloaded his weapons in the dark, until July 20th? And these are stoopid questions?

Now put your wife on the line- maybe she has an intelligent answer

It will be interesting if he spent some time in weapons and assault training somewhere in Tennessee

By Michelle Castillo:
James Holmes purchased a Smith and Wesson .233 .223 high powered semi-automatic rifle ...
Yep ditzy Cub Reporterette, Michelle Castillo, is right.
That S&W .223 is 'high powered' for sure.

It's Soooooo 'high powered' that the .223 round is BANNED in many states for DEER HUNTING! But not for being 'high powered' but for being 'Non high powered'! In those states the minimum is a .30 Caliber rifle. Or like in dumb IL we must use a Slug Gun for hunting Deer with a 'rifle' [Long Gun] (separate season for Bow Hunting).

Why is it that almost every article involving firearms, that some DITZ is the one assigned to write about it. Is it some 'Equal Rights Union Rule'?

He had to be a Colorado resident to buy the handguns, at least. Maybe the store guys thot California is contiguous to Colorado for the long guns since there are so many Calis there. But I thot he was a student fron California? He would have had to have established residency, mainly a local drivers license to buy the guns to make the sales legal. Most students don’t re-license in another state just because they’re going to school there——it’s not a requirement. But residency is for the guns. And BTW——he could have bought only the shotgun in California!!! Ain’t that cute?

No mystery there. The moment the cops had the guns they had the maker and serials. It took about 20 minutes or as soon as the sun came up to trace the guns to the makers-—distributors——dealers——point of sale. Point of sale records (4473’s) are kept only at the dealers and the ATF guys have the authority to come and read them——not take them, just read/copy them. But the dealers would read back the name/address of the purchaser to the ATF records check gal. In this case it appears all four guns traced to the same guy so BOOM-—DONE!

Get a copy of The Shooter's Bible.

Best twenty bucks you can spend to get familiar with firearms.

You can get it here ...
The Shooter's Bible (from Amazon.com)

Well, in context I was referring to the term "AR-15" in the post to which I was responding.

That is an AR-15.
Very generic term...

You're right though - I could have corrected the caliber.
