The Jokers of the Mainstream Media
Tea Party Tribune ^ | 2012-07-20 17:05:37 | mrcurmudgeon

By Mr. Curmudgeon

Brian Ross of ABC News erroneously identified the Aurora, Colorado, movie theater shooter as a member of the Tea Party Patriots. The man accused of firing an assortment of weapons into a packed theater, killed 12 and wounded 59. ABC misidentified James Holmes, the alleged shooter, age 24, as 52-year-old James Holmes of the Colorado Tea Party Patriots.

This, of course, should come as no surprise. Keen observers of the American political scene view The Tea Party as most responsible for the dramatic reversal of fortunes afflicting the Obama presidency and the Democratic Party since the midterm elections of 2010.

With the president's political viability waning with each dismal economic report, is it any wonder that a desperate Obama-media would further impugn the growing small-government Tea Party movement?

Although ABC eventually posted a correction on its website, the lie is out and viral; I believe Ross's Tea Party smear was intentional.

The Hitlerian big lies concerning the Tea Party will come fast and furious right up to November 6. This is just the start.

So, let's make some assumptions about the shooter based on the facts as we know them: James Holmes was attending the University of Colorado Denver/Anschutz Medical Campus - studying neuroscience; He was described by those who knew him as a "super nice kid," "kinda quiet" and "really smart"; and an ABC news update claims the alleged shooter "dyed his hair like The Joker ... a well-known villain in the fictional batman universe."

We have a very smart university student unable to separate reality from comic book fantasy ... smart in the ways of brain science no less. Disseminating fantasies is what the modern university does so well. It does not teach students to think critically in pursuit of the truth. Instead, it teaches Progressive theology that sees as dangerous any challenge to its fragile orthodoxy. Unable to argue the wisdom of its quasi religion, Progressives demonize all challengers, declaring them heretics "outside the mainstream."

"You see," says The Joker in the Batman film "The Dark Knight," "their morals, their code, it's a bad joke. Dropped at the first sign of trouble. They're only as good as the world allows them to be. I'll show you. When the chips are down, these... these civilized people, they'll eat each other. See, I'm not a monster. I'm just ahead of the curve."

That is a perfect distillation of the moral relativism disseminated by today's university system and a jaded mainstream media.

If the mad act of James Holmes has a trigger, it emanates from the relativist moral swamp of our Progressive age.

Under the terms of moral relativism, Brian Ross's Tea Party slur isn't necessarily wrong. Ross apologists can simply claim he was "just ahead of the curve."

"The Hitlerian big lies concerning the Tea Party will come fast and furious right up to November 6. This is just the start.

It worked for the Democrats in the election of 1996. But not for Timothy McVeigh, Bill Clinton would never have been reelected. (IMHO)

In a just world, Mr. Holmes age 52 would get a nice settlement from ABC news, Brian Ross would be fired and George Sephanopolus would be severely chastised. However, this ain't a just world and nothing past an apology will happen.

Another thing about the advocate media and their response to the Aurora shootings that bother me, none of us here at Free Republic have said one word in protest of Laura Ingraham trying to tie the OWS to the shooting.
To me, this is just as egregious as the left trying to tie the shooter to the Tea party. Not as bad as ABC but still on par with the others. I lost a lot of respect for Laura today.

The mainstream press and Liberal Progressives are the real life, honest to goodness ghouls in this country. There is no tragedy or human sorrow or loss that they are above using to push their agenda.

The dead in this tragedy hadn’t been identified before the souless moguls began beating their gun control and conservative trashing mantras. FOR SHAME!!!

I think it’s high time these willful liars have to pay up for the damage they do to people’s lives with their blatant use of human sorrow to traffic their sick agendas.

And, no one is going to take away my right to defend myself against the horrors unleashed and walking among us.

“Why does anyone listen to them?”

The same reason many Germans accepted the demonization of Jews.

Disgruntled people want a scapegoat to blame their frustrations on, and evil people use that effectively to promote their nefarious agendas.

Masses of people with no passion for truth make this too easy for the perpetrators, and the innocent always suffer.

Brian Ross was proved wrong. Unless James Holmes (the actual shooter) has been receiving death threats from Taxed Enough Already people and has had to change his phone number out of fear for his life, Laura has not yet been proved wrong. If you know something I don’t know please let me know.

If Brian Ross can dig up a connection between the Tea Party and some guy named James Holmes, why can’t they find an obvious connection between the shooter and Katie Holmes? His mind could have been influenced by some latent Scientology teachings that were spread via telepathic means from Tom Cruise (ok. everybody jump up and down on the couch!). /major sarc/

No, I do not know more than you. I am just saying both were speculating to prove a political point. In my opinion that is wrong.
Ross tried to tie the shooting to an individual within a group. Ingraham tired to tie the shootings to a group. Both jumped out there with out any evidence to blame a group they disagree with. Two wrongs are still wrongs.

We shall see. Ingraham could still be right. Ross is already wrong.

You must be a republican the irony and gambit went over your head..

Ross accused the Tea Party.. Ingraham did the same and accused the OWS... tit for tat.. purely to make a point..

I admit expecting most republicans and all democrats to make the connection is dicey.. Laura don’t really know how dumb America is currently.. Especially the people she wants to be effected.. You know.... like you.....
