NBC's Isikoff Suggests 'Powerful NRA' Makes It Harder to Protect Theaters

On Saturday's Today show, as Michael Isikoff filed a report on the drive to make people safer at movie theaters after the Aurora massacre, the NBC correspondent concluded his report by suggesting that, because "the powerful National Rifle Association has blocked any move for stricter gun laws," people will have to settle for "beefed-up security and greater vigilance," as if the NRA were preventing people from being safer.

Toward the end of the report, Isikoff relayed the complaint of gun control activists that it is too easy to obtain certain types of guns. Isikoff:

Nationally, there have been about 60 multiple shootings in the past 18 months. A recurring theme, say gun control activists, is the ability of the shooters to obtain high-powered weapons, such as the AR-15 assault rifle and Glock pistols used by alleged Aurora shooter James Holmes.

Then came a clip of Dennis Henigan, vice president of the Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence...

Isikoff... the same a**hole whose fake “korans in the toilet at GITMO” story set off riots in multiple countries and endangered our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan.. not to mention the many dozens of deaths that occurred from that rioting.

I hope a special place in hell awaits him.

Oh good grief, now its going to be the endless ‘theater security gap’ debates designed solely to take the guns against law abiding citizens.

Tax paying citizens are more in danger of black flash mobs coordinating their attacks with free Obama phones...

...debate that!

Bull. Boycott Cinemark theaters. There guns prohibited policies create victim zones.

I’m not sure Mitt can win this election; however, presuming he does, I predict in Sotero’s lameduck session of Nov/Dec, he’ll issue the executive order to reinstate the AWB, then when Romney rolls in January, he will not have the guts to reverse it.

If the NRA were to disappear tomorrow, it wouldn’t make the slightest bit of difference in the laws. The people are voting for pro gun laws and the NRA has nothing to do with it.

He wants to put TSA agents and metal detectors in your local Movie House.

All paid for by the Government of course.

If the above happens, there will be a lot of the aides to senators and representatives who will get their butts chewed out.

If NBC were dead and gone, America would be a much better place. Issacoff is an American enemy the likes of a Hezbollah shiek

It’s hard to protect theaters when no guns are allowed.

That’s got nothing to do with the NRA.

Oddly enough when they want to increase security what do they do? Bring in people with guns. Yet they want us to feel safer without our firearms?
I was just thinking about an “anti-911 campaign” -
Never call 911, it’ll only attract more guns to your location!

I was home watching TV the day of the Columbine shootings. The media were broadcasting live from the scene. I saw two different reporters try to bring up gun control with the kids. Both times the kids responded something to the effect of, "well, if I would've had my rifle in there, I could've taken them down."

The media needs to do this kind of pontificating/editorializing because people in the real world know if somebody in that theatre would've had a CCW, there would've been a lot less bloodshed.

This will fail for them, liberals fail to understand how ingrained guns are in our culture.

Pardon my niavete here, but what would congressional aides have to do with it unless you mean calls from constituents calling to demand Senators and Congressman pressure President Romney to reverse it?

Because ALL liberals know, 9/11 was US’s fault.

That’s why.

No silly, the theater was protected by company policy that prohibited anyone except law enforcement personnel from carrying firearms on the premises, just as his apartment building was protect by strong laws prohibiting booby traps and incendiary explosives and just as all his victims were protected by laws against being shot.

The NRA had nothing to do with it. Any suggestion they did is just, well, silly.

When confronted by actual force and guns pointed at him, the guy not only was crouched by his car, but also gave up meekly and told police that his apartment was wired.

A MED Student drop-out who had worked as a camp counselor...do no harm and all that jazz.

If he really wanted to make a statement, he could have just driven his car through the crowd or thrown a couple of canisters of something lethal.

We are not learning the real story here.

I was channel-surfing on the TV last night & I saw that the cable channel "Indie" was broadcasting Bowling for Columbine at 9 p.m.

If this movie was already on the schedule, it should've been removed. If it was added after the Aurora shootings to get some political mileage out of this tragedy, I'd be even more appalled (but not surprised).

In either case, the Program Director (or whoever makes these decisions at that network) should be fired.

New photo of Brian Ross, the convicted child molester.

ABC News was just so DAMNED eager to tie the patriots of the "Tea Party" to an insane act of mass-murder, that Ross and Stephanopolous just couldn't stop themselves when they did a Google search and found a Jim Holmes on a Tea Party list.

Their wet dream is to connect "Tea Party" and "terrorist" as a permanent meme in the MSM.

Turnabout is fair play. Please share this photo on FR, FB and Twitter, and include "Brian Ross, the convicted child molester" and "tea party" in the accompanying text, so that the picture will be linked on Google to Brian Ross forever. This smarmy prick and ABC "news" deserve it, in spades.
