The practical scenario with an accomplice would be for that accomplice to buy a ticket, enter the theater, call James Holmes who was in his car largely already geared up, open the emergency door for him and either leave, join in the carnage or, as is so weirdly common, record it with his cell phone. I’d be very attentive to the perspective of any cell phone recordings of this that may pop up.
Yes, but doesn't appear likely. Assuming theatre has security cams they will determine if Holmes bought a ticket.
Either FOX or CNN reported Holmes doing the Joker thing had red dyed hair and goatee. The chief at the presser said the sheriff would not release the booking photo. That is likely the reason why it is being withheld to confirm witness accounts.
Witness accounts saying he was on cell phone before leaving leads me to believe either (1) accomplice outside saying coast is clear to go outside and gear up; (2) acted like he was on the his phone as a ruse to 'explain' getting up to leave due to the call; or (3) I don't know if it possible to activate his stereo in his apartment via cell phone or not, but it was reported to come on at about the time the show started.
The timeline suggests the person was gone for about 15-20 minutes. That's about how long it would take him to put his garb on and return.
As a side note, as I understand it via one of the TV outlets, after the police broadcast that a subject was at the rear of the theater, officers spotting him initially thought he was a SWAT member, but Holmes gave away his ploy with a piece of equipment the didn't fit the SWAT gear.
