Except, of course, Holmes hadn’t exhibited “sufficiently odd” behavior to prohibit ownership of weapons or ammo.

Hell, I’ve got that many rounds of ammo (and more) for my old Mosin-Nagant, simply because I picked up 10 cases of ammo for a song at a estate auction (8800 rounds. Cost me 35 bucks. . . ) And 3 more rifles for 100. . .

Well, you’ve introduced the “odd behavior” additional factor, but 6000 rounds is not much at all and many recreational shooters will have that and more. Depending on the caliber, it may not even take up much space. See the attached link for a 5,000 round brick:

I have at least 30K rounds in my basement, takes up less than probably 36 sq ft, stacked 4 ft high.

You probably wouldn't want to know what I have in my storage unit. I knew $139 cases of FMP and Hirtenberger 308 probably wouldn't come around again anytime soon.
