You can just imagine the scene.

Democrat operatives gathered around a table in a (hashish) smoke-filled room.

Operative #1: “Huma is taking a lot of heat from this Muslim Brotherhood thing.”

Operative #2: “I thought that we had that covered by getting our fellow travelers in the MSM to denounce Bachmann as a new McCarthy.”

Operative #1: “That was working as expected until a couple of them wandered off the reservation and noticed that if Huma’s mother is closely associated with a designated terrorist organization, then she would not be eligible for a security clearance. It’s starting to look like this could unravel and threaten our whole anti-American agenda.”

Operative #2: “I know how we can fix this - get a member of the Tea Party to threaten Huma - that will put the Repugs on the defensive and throw them off the trail.”

Operative #1: “You’re forgetting that Brian Ross just fulfilled his latest mission by associating the Tea Party with the movie theater mass murderer on Good Morning America. We can’t trot out another “Tea Party extremist” message for at least another month, or Stephanopoulus will have a hissy fit - he’s a stickler for getting our message out with a drip, drip, drip approach for maximum effectiveness instead of opening the floodgates.”

Operative #2: “You’re right - I’ve got an even better idea - let’s get a Mormon to attack Huma. We need to play up the “Mormons are racist haters” angle, and so what better way to do it than to have a Mormon threaten an attractive minority woman victim. Why, that could be a big enough story to lead off the Nightly News. Harry Reid’s little black book must be filled with the names of LDS members that we’ve blackmailed into cooperating with us.”

Operative #1: “No, no, no - Huma is a “breeder” and that angle is entirely too heterosexual, we’ll never get it past the Party’s Central Committee Gaystapo. Besides, we’re already planning to trot out the “violent Mormon radical” theme for October.”

Operative #2: “Okay, how’s this one - let’s get a Muslim man to threaten Huma - that way, it will prove that she can’t be a Muslim Brotherhood sympathyzer, and make the Repugs look foolish for even suggesting it.”

Operative #1: “Brilliant! Who do we have on our payroll that can do the trick? Hillary, you must have some contacts, right? Better yet, get Huma to ask her mother to recommend a Muslim Brotherhood member to do the threatening. It will give us bulletproof plausible deniability.”

Hillary: “Perfect. I’ll get right on it.”

I'm thinking an "unspecified threat" is one that authorities don't want to give exact details about.
That doesn't make any sense.

The man was questioned by the NYPD and the State Department and has not been charged, sources said.
And if it was a threat serious enough to warrant a security detail then why was he simply questioned and then released?

So, according to the implicit illogic of this New York Post writer, Michelle Bachmann is to blame for this supposed threat against Huma? How silly!!!

BTW, Abedin's family ties to the Muslim Brotherhood have been known for quite some time.
