Dear FRiends,
We're going to need your support now more than ever to get through these bad times. And with these foolish godless liberal/progressive politicians from both parties delving deeper and deeper into statist/socialism things are bound to get worse unless commonsense conservatives band together to find a way to fight them off.
As we all know, America was founded on the principle that all men are created equal and endowed by our Creator with certain unalienable rights, including the rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
America was the first and only nation as far as I know to recognize that our rights come from God not from a king or from a government. Our unalienable rights cannot be taken away by man or by government. Our government cannot exist but by our consent. We are the sovereigns.
We do not grant our consent to a government or to government leaders that do not defend our God-given unalienable rights to the hilt.
As a conservative site, Free Republic is here to conserve (defend) our unalienable rights - the entire package with no exceptions - that means we're pro-God, pro-Life, pro-family, pro-gun, pro-Liberty, pro-limited government, pro-defense, pro-Constitution, pro-Bill of Rights, etc., with no exceptions!
We're now locked in a battle in the defense of those rights against the godless liberals, progressives and statists, against our own party and against our own party's presumptive nominee who has a solid history of trampling on these very same God-given unalienable rights that we are sworn to defend, and even against some of our own members.

The only solution I can offer is that we must all continue to place our faith in God and not a certain political party and certainly not in a certain politician that has an anti-conservative, pro-abortion, pro-homosexual agenda, gun grabbing, statist big government record and a nasty habit of lying for political gain.
If FR is to survive this turmoil so that we live to fight another day, we must have your support. The wing shape on the insect looks familiar. There was a deceased bug on our garage floor the other day with a dragon-fly body and jet-black wings shaped just like that and about that size.
It was a pretty little thing, and I have no idea how it got killed, but I would love to have seen it flying.
The insect fauna here are so much different than they are in California. Things I’ve never seen before include tiny black flies that look exactly like miniature house flies, odd-colored lady bird beetles, beetles that smell like apples (because their larva eat apples), millipedes that invade the house, medium- and very-large-sized, black ants (1/4 - 1/2” long), and of course, the black dragon fly.
The arachnids are about the same, daddy-long-legs spiders abound, and I evict little brown spiders every week or so. Getting the tiny baby ones outside without damaging them has gotten easier now that I have plenty of experience putting them outside. I don’t kill them because I like spiders and their place in God’s plan.
I’ve never seen a tarantula here, :( but you can’t win them all.

I have seen a beautiful red dragonfly here once..
I have seen a tarantula in my garage..almost stepped on one one night when opening the kitchen door for the kitties to play in the garage..Kitty went into stalk mode instead of going out..I looked down and closed the door VERY quickly! They travel during mating season and are just looking for a mate in all the wrong places..LOL
So beautiful!
We lived near Mt. Diablo in Concord, CA, and the mountain is just infested with tarantulas.
During mating season, people are still allowed to drive up to the observation station at the top, but the speed limit is lowered, and there are all sorts of signs saying to watch out for the spiders.
For the most part, everyone is careful of them, and it is delightful to see so many of them.
One at a time is plenty for me! LOL
