New poll shows large margin in favor of marriage amendment

A new poll of likely Minnesota voters showed a 15 percent lead in favor of the constitutional amendment defining marriage as one man and one woman, according to a SurveyUSA and KSTP-TV poll released Sunday, July 22.

The poll by SurveyUSA, a public polling firm that partners with local TV stations, had 52 percent of voters saying they would vote for the ammendment to 37 percent against it. Six percent were unsure; 5 percent would not vote.

A previous SurveyUSA poll in February showed 47 percent would vote for the amendment to 39 percent against it.

Other recent polls display different numbers. Public Policy Polling showed 49 percent oppose the amendment and 43 percent in support in early June. A Gallup poll of about 1,000 Americans in May had 50 percent in favor of recognizing same-sex marriages with the same rights of traditional marriage.

31 states have already made common sense part of their constitutions. Room for free-range moonbats is getting more scarce.

Cue the media to trot out their tired "The public is overwhelmingly in favor of gay marriage" pablum.

I never hear the media aknowledge that people have rejected this crap over and over and over again.

I hope this is correct. Remember, Mark Ritchie is the secretary of state in Minnesota as he was at the time of the contested election of comedian with all the subsequent recounts.

It is remarkable how this issue wins a significant majority every time it goes to the voters. Even in left-leaning states like California and Minnesota. Yet idiot mayors like the guy in Boston act as if having this belief is some sort of abhorrent exception. The fact is, most people want marriage to be between and man and a woman.

Many, like me, are perfectly fine with others doing with their lives as they wish, and laws should allow those individuals to have the contractual rights to visit in the hospital. That has nothing to do with infringing on the tradition of marriage.

"The public is overwhelmingly in favor of gay marriage" pablum.

The current push is to lie about the amendment being a "restriction of the right to marry" ignoring, of course, that it is the amendment opponents who are trying to change the status quo.

Next on the agenda - an amendment that codifies that gravity pulls you “down” instead of “up”.

It's an age-old leftist tactic -- repeat a lie so often and so loudly that it becomes "fact" in the public mind.

God made the perfect plan when he chose man and woman; not man and man and man and woman and woman.

Unless we make it an amendment to the US Constitution, you can count on the SCOTUS to eventually overturn every State Constitution so amended.

Count on it.

I believe it's 'unexpected' (for the pervs in the MSM) when each and every state that's voted on the issue has voted to protect traditional marriage.

The public servants in Washington and each state capitol are so out of touch with the people that it isn’t funny. The public servants need to get with the program or get the hell out.

You are absolutely right. This must be enacted at the Constitutional level or it will simply be overriden by the next activist Court. With 31 (likely 32) states already on record as supporting a man-woman definition of marriage, it should be possible to align another 7 states and amend the Constitution. But it has to be soon; the loons are gaining ground.

The biggest turnout I have ever seen at my polling place was when Texas had the vote for a DOMA-type amendment, which passed overwhelmingly.

Correct. But they never tire of putting "Chrissy & Karen take their son Joey to baseball practice" stories in the Life section etc. Of course, Joey's actual biological origins are never mentioned nor is the absence of a father.

I thought MN was extremely liberal.

Then let’s get it done - NOW.

And be sure the amendment precludes any marriage-mimicking relationships as well. Otherwise, it’s useless.

Yes, they know that if they keep saying the public highly favors same sex marriage, it will become a self-fulfilling prophesy. Or at least this is what they hope.
