What purpose does an AR-15 serve to a sportsman that a more standard hunting rifle does not serve? Let’s see – does it fire more rounds without reload? Yes. Does it fire farther and more accurately? Yes. Does it accommodate a more lethal payload? Yes. So basically, the purpose of an assault style weapon is to kill more stuff, more fully, faster and from further away. To achieve maximum lethality....

Not one correct assertion.

Of the twenty something murders in Chicago this month, I wonder how many we’re done with “assault” weapons? These idiots think every AR15 is an automatic machine gun.

And the stabbings in Chcago this year have exceeded all of last year already. Are they banning knifes?

Simply ignorant and just stupid.

Why can’t we all just get along?

So when did Jason Alexander become a firearms expert?

He obviously doesn’t understand the constitution and the bill of rights.

Does it fire farther and more accurately? Yes.

Not necessarily.

Does it accommodate a more lethal payload? Yes.

No. In some states it's not even legal for deer hunting.

What purpose does an AR-15 serve to a sportsman that a more standard hunting rifle does not serve?

There is no sporting purpose requirement to the Second Amendment, which was first and foremost written to deter tyranny in government.

Let’s see – does it fire more rounds without reload? Yes. Does it fire farther and more accurately? Yes.

False, hunting rifles are more powerful and typically more accurate. It isn't even legal to hunt deer with a .223 in many states. (Including Colorado, for example.)

Does it accommodate a more lethal payload? Yes.

False again, the intermediate-power .223 was designed to maim more than to kill, while hunting bullets were designed to kill. Maiming soldiers of enemy armies take more of them out of action than killing them does, because of all the personnel needed to accomplish the rescue, evac, give medical treatment, etc.

This is just anti-gun disinformation. (As is typical.)

its funny listening to all these hollywood morons scream about gun control over the Colorado shooting without taking any responsibility themselves....the shooter did refer to himself as “the Joker” and reportedly died his hair to look like the “Joker”...

so how about Alexander- where’s the blame on Hollywood for this???

It does not fire more loads without reloading.
It does not fire farther and more accurately. Many rifles, including black powder rifles, shoot farther with accuracy.
It is a utilitysprot rifle good for small vermin. Although some use it for deer hunting that is a bit of a stretch.

Everything he says here is garbage.

These people believe that the US government is eventually going to go street by street and enslave our citizens.

Hey there looser, Obama promised it when he said he wanted a civil army as strong and as well equipped as the regular army. Get back on your meds buddy. Hitler did it in Germany, Mussolini in Italy, Mao in China Stalin in the USSR etc. etc etc. People are free only when the government fears them not the other way around.

So much for his Guest spot on Sons of Guns.

Hey Jason, if you want my AR-15, come on over and try to take it.

Oh that’s right, you just Support and Vote for people that will use the power of the State to take them. Of course that is the real reason we own the Guns in the first place.

The gun control crowd has latched on to the AR-15....because it sounds so ‘machine gunesque’.

They seem to have forgotten the use of a shotgun...and by Alexander’s own false litmus test (use for hunting and sport), I can think of no other weapon that meets this criteria more. And, quite frankly, most hardened gun control advocates will ‘allow’ a shotgun.

Alexander also seems to forget that this maniac made bombs and put them in his apartment...despite federal laws against making bombs. No matter what the laws are, nuts like this will find a way.

An AR-15 fires farther and more accurately than a hunting rifle?

How stupid IS this guy? Or maybe I should say, ignorant.

That’s why they have to “take our country back”. From who?

From libtard tyrants who want to establish a system of statism and socialism.
