Connecticut Gov. Dannel Malloy slams N.J. Gov. Chris Christie in WNPR interview
The New Haven Register ^ | July 23, 2012 | Register Staff

As for Christie, Malloy said, “I didn’t start the fight with Christie. He made a rather snarky comment about me not having read the manual (for being a governor). But the reality is you couldn’t have two states going in opposite directions to the same extent that we are.”

Malloy made his remarks in an appearance on Colin McEnroe’s radio talk show on WNPR Monday afternoon.

Malloy blasted “the games” that Christie is playing with the funding of pensions, saying he’s “kicking the can down the road.”

Malloy is a Democrate is Christie is a Republican.

The comments came after McEnroe asked Malloy about a Newark Star-Ledger column saying that Malloy has proven one can raise taxes and still create jobs.

Governor Malloy loves pork and public sector unions. And he's committed to kicking the pension reform can down the road. Connecticut can look forward to many more years of pain.

"But the reality is you couldn’t have two states going in opposite directions to the same extent that we are."

I certainly agree - and I'll say something I thought I'd never, ever say: thank God that I live in New Jersey!

Governor Malloy "But the reality is you couldn’t have two states going in opposite directions to the same extent that we are.”

But the real reality is that is exactly what is happening.

So what is this doofus trying to say?

Malloy is a Democrate socialist; is Christie is a Republican RINO.

Small correction.

I paid $3.39 a gallon in NJ (they pumped it) and $3.79 in CT during the week. So what direction does Gov. Malloy want to take?

Dannel Malloy is a liberal Democrat who raised state taxes near-exponentially (6.35% sales tax on every possible transaction known to man) and spends taxpayer's money like the proverbial drunken sailor, thus giving drunken sailors a bad name. A political hack without a clue how business works and without a care about the financial burdens of small businesses or the financially strapped middle class that pay the bills in Connecticut. New Jersey Governor Chris Cristy is no conservative but at least he tries to get the economics right. Dannel Malloy just pretends that Connecticut will always be affluent and able to support a bloated state government. Malloy is politically 'owned' by the all-powerful state employee unions and likes it that way.

Colin McEnroe, his interviewer on WNPR, is a far-left loon mistakenly considers himself an intellectual and is liberal arrogance personified. He used to be on the Hartford radio powerhouse, 50 kilowatt WTIC-AM (following Rush Limbaugh) but was dumped a few years ago because of low ratings. The local lefties had a tizzy fit - to no avail. The former Republican Governor of Connecticut, John Rowland, (who cut taxes and had budget surpluses) was hounded by the Democrats and the liberal local media when he got caught having state employees do some work on his summer home on the taxpayer's dime and served a short jail term for it, replaced McEnroe. He's still there.(Rowland is also a 'motivational speaker' for hire) Pure, irony, writ large.

I resemble that remark! Just kidding. Honestly though, after being cooped up on a ship at sea for months at a time, something's gotta give!

On the whole, I approve of Christie over Jon Corzine by a very large percentage. We take what we can get here in NJ; the land of the libotards.

The main difference (other than 300lbs) between Christie and Landslide (Malloy) is that Christie won in spite of rampant voter fraud and Landslide won because of it.

Malloy is the POS politician that stood behind the union scum who walked off the job at an Alzheimer facility and scrambled name tags and medications of the patients to ‘get back at the man’. May he rot......

Malloy is correct here.

Christie is full of shite and kicking the can down the road, to the tune of $2.1B a year, plus interest expense.

Anyone and everyone who is telling you that Christie is more fiscally responsible than Malloy is calling you a total f***ing retard to your face. So be very careful before you take the talking newsheads and dime a dozen pundits at face value. Check out what Malloy did to fund the CT. pensions over the next twenty years, vs the 1 year thievery that Christie pulled off and plans to institutionalize through the rest of his stay in the governorship.

In the end, Malloy will save CT taxpayers about $2.9B in interest expenses over the next 20 years, and Christie will cost future NJ taxpayers the expense of an additional $29B in unfunded liabilities interest expense between now and 2019. Compare that interest expense over the next 20 years to the savings that Malloy has found and the situation is clear to all, Malloy has done right by the pensions, by taxpayers, and has taken a big hit in the polls to get it done.

Christie took the easy way out and the future of NJ is a sad story arch to follow.
