She sees that there is no future in death. Eventually we will, like the hero, either kill them all or die trying.

What a great movie - very proud of Nolan for this.

She turns when she is looking through debris and picks up a family photo. Her friend asks what it is. She replies, “This used to be someone’s house.” And the friend replies, “Now it is everyone’s house.” But looking around, it was destroyed.
