WASHINGTON (CNN) -- In the aftermath of last week's deadly Colorado movie theater shooting, background checks for those wanting to purchase guns in the state spiked more than 40 percent, authorities said Tuesday.

Yeah. Find something better to do.
Like....
Going to the gun range.
My family and I went today. Nothing like a little, "Range Therapy," to make everyone feel better.

No idea what 40% means in real numbers but I just had a freind yesterday ask me about buying his first gun. Blew me away coming from him.

Anyway, I also have been spending more time at the range. I usually have the place to myself and it makes for a nice summer afternoon.

Meanwhile.....

Bill O'Reilly has gone completely off the rails as he continued tonight to rail against people being able to walk into any gun shop (or gun show) and walk out with a "Fully Automatic" weapon or....wait for it....a "BAZOOKA!"

He attacked the ability for ANYONE to purchase what he refers to "Heavy Weapons," and he is so uninformed, he keeps saying these people who buy AK's and other weapons and large amounts of ammo (he mistakenly reported that the shooter in Aurora purchased 60,000 rounds as opposed to 6,000) to the FBI, not even knowing that there already is a Fed Agency responsible, the ATF.

What a Maroooon!

It's not that we don't trust our elected misrepresentatives and the governor in Denver, you understand: it's just that, ah... Well, on second thought, no, we don't downright distrust them. but more like, ah... Well, on third thought, yes, I guess you could say...

Well, wait. It's kind'a like this: you know how far you could pick up and throw that theater with the anti-Second Amendment bigotry signs on its doors? Yeah. Well, it's not like we distrust those representatives of the Democratic [sic] party in Denver, but that's about how far we positively trust them.

Well, no, that's not quite exactly it, either. Here's what we're figuring: if there's a way they can turn these murders and maimings into a political opportunity to show all the illegal aliens in Denver how much they appreciate their votes, the representatives of the Democratic [sic] party will probably do it in four seventy-seventeenths of half a little bit of a second. Might not be too bad an idea to stock up on guns and ammunition and reloading gadgetry while it's still legal for commoners to buy them.

I saw that too. My jaw dropped. That was the biggest FAIL OR has ever had!! He really has no clue on this subject.

The folks at the range this morning said that Friday was busy as hell.
Within the first 5 minutes, there were three new shooters reading the rules on the tables.
When we left, I told them, “I hope y’all see a LOT of new business. Have a good one.”

What gets me is what good is any of this data except as a means for Washington to track down & eliminate anyone who might be able to defend themselves?

Would it have stopped this shooter, or any shooter? NO!

Besides being innovated with Constitutionally useless data(at best) real criminals would either go unreported or overlooked. The only people who would get harassed with this mischievous information would be the very people who might have a chance at stopping such a massacre.
