Bill O’Reilly’s Anti-gun Blarney
The New American ^ | 25 July 2012 | Selwyn Duke

We expect anti-gun nonsense from people such as Bill Moyers and Little Big Gulp Bloomberg, but we might hope that Fox News’s Bill O’Reilly wouldn’t evoke an eye-rolling “Oh, really!” when discussing the subject. But as the crusty commentator further proved last night while arguing with a guest, Congressman Jason Chaffetz (R-Utah), he still hasn’t done his homework on the firearms issue.

In full-fire mode while talking about the Aurora tragedy with Chaffetz, O’Reilly insisted that there should be special reporting to the FBI when people purchase, as he put it, “heavy weapons … mortars, howitzers, machine guns....” The ignorance displayed through that comment is profound.

First, if we instituted O’Reilly’s policy, obtaining a mortar, howitzer, or machine gun would be far easier than it currently is, as such weapons are tightly controlled under the National Firearms Act. In fact, the hoops one must jump through to purchase such weaponry include, but may not be limited to

Bill O’Reilly’s typical M.O. is to invite an expert on a particular subject on his show so that he can interrupt them, to tell them HIS uninformed emotion based opinion on their area of expertise.

Another display of “my way or the high way” by the Dean of No Spin....breaking his own rules by spinning out of control. O’Reilly as the good Doctor was pointing out between interruptions that under Freedom, certain things are going to happen that no one can fully control.

The truth about this administration and guns, or any of our elected is being overlooked imho......Fast & Furious, a crime that few are willing to try to get to the truth about "selling guns over the border" Bill should have seen this as part of the cover up with less shouting and bloviating on his part. No elected is going to stick his or her neck out about more "gun laws" until after November.

As FNC gets more and more left-wing...

Someone should tell the MSM who still characterize FNC as far right; or at least, a mouthpiece for the RNC.

It’s an old Stalinist tactic: anyone not at least as radical- Leftist as the ones in control (media, Democrats, unions, Greens, et al.) is “Right-wing” or “reactionary.”

How else could a big-Government statist like Bush (any of them) be considered a Right-winger?

O’Reilly is a dope. How the hell he still has ANY audience baffles me? I have refused to watch this nitwit at all since 2002.
