The Gateway Pundit ^ | 7/25/12 | Jim Hoft

What a coincidence! Obama just happened to find three friendly veterans in a booth at a Portland diner this week. It was a “surprise stop.” At least, that’s what local King5 told us.

Great!
Taking the message to the unwashed masses.
These local rag site comment threads are read by all types of voters - they are an important avenue to use in any election cycle.

I think all of us here need to take a concerted effort and go out and post on our local newspaper websites. The liberals are there posting away - all over the place - I deal with my local bunch daily.

FR is a group of like minded friends - those Moderate voters don’t read here - for the most part- need to take out message out to the masses. I always post to a wider audience when responding to a liberal/progressive on those sites. There’s lots of different ‘voter’ eyes reading those comments.

Thomas Foeller from Oak Grove Tom is a retired Vietnam War era veteran. He enlisted in the Navy Reserves in 1967 during his junior year at Portland State University because he wanted to serve his country. He left the Navy Reserves as a lieutenant in 1976. He served for a total of nine years; four of those were active duty. He was a member of the Inshore Undersea Warfare Unit and spent six months stationed in Japan, then six months in Guam while on call to deploy to Vietnam. His unit never received the call to deploy.

Tom retried from a career in the housing industry six years ago. At the time of his retirement, Tom was diagnosed with stage III rectal cancer, during a routine physical. He believes that had the Affordable Care Act – and the emphasis on preventative care – been in place a decade or two ago, he would have caught his cancer earlier and could have saved tens of thousands of dollars in healthcare costs.

Hey Tom, why don't you tell us exactly what kind of health care insurance you had a "decade or two ago." For as long as I can remember, every health care plan that I have had over the last 30 years has emphasized preventive cancer screening. For colon/rectal cancer, CDC guidelines currently call for preventive screening every five years beginning at age 50 or earlier in the event of a family history. I'm willing ot bet that if Tom did not undergo preventive screening a "decade or two ago," then it's because (a) he chose not to, contrary to the recommendations of his health care provider; (b) the GOVERNMENT back then did not recommend screening every five years and his health care provider followed GOVERNMENT guidelines; or (c) his health care provider (not the health care insurer) was incompetent. And if he didn't have private health care coverage back then, as an activated reservist serving during wartime, he should have been eligible for VA medical care.

And no one thought it would look suspicious to hand out bios on these men after the meal?! This administration is dumber than a box of rocks. Keep it up, Barry. The more you trip over your blatant stupidity, the more I like to see it.

Don't know about whether or not you're "not to smart," but I do know that you're boring. You Romney-bashers just can't help but spread your whiney, cry-baby complaints on every thread, whether it is relevant or not.

Tell it to someone who GAF, chum.

if he is a vet he could have gone to any VA medical center anytime for help..As for vet care they have been cutting travel pay by only paying to the closest facility and raising co pays....but its still a great deal..especially for uninsured. This means these guys have always had coverage..and a check up every year.

[ You Romney-bashers just can't help but spread your whiney, cry-baby complaints on every thread, whether it is relevant or not. ]

I see... Sooo... you think running the inventor Romney-care against the inventor of Obama-care is a good idea?....

And is NOT a cartoon.... and that this election is not a cartoon.. like a Kabuki Theater Skit..

Planned and executed like running the Son of old "read my lips no new taxes"(Shrub Jr.) against the murderer of Vince Foster(clintoon) was a good idea?..

I don't... I'm slow but eventually "git it"...
The Russians had "Show Trials"... in america we have "Show Elections"..

Running at least 5 or 6 conservative candidates against one main liberal republican(Myth)... watered down the votes...
Brilliant really.. but overlooked still by most republicans as a "gambit"..
Successful as it was.. i.e. by Rove and other republican elites..

I am not amused..
