Not sure if it matters anymore, but if the Founders wanted us to be able to fend off subjection why should we not have AK-47’s AND anything else that’s useful for such a purpose?

Cannons (at least on ships, not sure about land) were okay for private citizens back then.

Exactly. The second amendment isnt for enthusiasts or hunters. It is to stop authorities who come to confiscate our large sodas. And no true American would have an AK-47, the communist weapon of choice.
