Rep. Allen West has endorsed Rep. Sandy Adams over Rep. John Mica in the incumbent on incumbent primary that is unfolding in Floridas newly created 7th District.
The endorsement is not entirely surprising West is a staunch tea partier, and Adams is often portrayed as the tea party challenger to the so-called establishment candidate, Mica, who has been in office since 1993 and chairs the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.
Two years ago, the citizens of Florida called for a change in the way things were going in our Nations Capital, said West, who was elected in the same 2010 election that brought Adams into office. Sandy Adams and I went to the United States House of Representatives to work to get our Republic back on track. We quickly learned the problems were deeper and there were some entrenched careerist politicians who supported the status-quo.
These last two years, Sandy has been fighting to change the ways of Washington. She is a patriot with regard to preserving and protecting our nation and our Constitution. I fully endorse Sandy Adams candidacy for the 7th Congressional District because she represents a new generation of Republican Conservatives who have come to the Halls of Congress to find solutions and is working tirelessly against some on Capitol Hill who would rather perpetuate the problems, West said.
Adams touted Wests endorsement.
There is no doubt about it, Washington, D.C. is broken. Sadly, even Republicans like John Mica are part of the problem, she said in a statement. In 2010, Central Floridians sent me to Congress with patriots like Allen West with a mandate to stop the overspending in Washington. I am proud to say that we have made significant progress in our fight. No longer is the status quo acceptable. The entrenched Republicans and Democrats in Congress who have led us to our nearly $16 trillion debt will be held responsible.
I am honored to receive Allen Wests endorsement today, she went on. Not only is he an American hero, but we share the same passion for preserving and protecting our nations Constitution and upholding the principles our great nation was founded upon. I have kept my promises to the Central Floridians who have given me the honor to represent them, and my fight to change the way Washington works is not finished.
The incumbent versus incumbent primary is a result of redistricting, which patched together portions of Adams and Micas district. Both opted to run in the district, though there was the possibility of running in a nearby district that had no incumbent in the mix. At the moment, Mica is the better funded candidate, but Adams continues to draw endorsements from tea party stars like West, including former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.
Mike "the Huckster" Huckabee endorsed Mica yesterday.
It has been pretty clear in the majority of the races where the candidates stand by the persons endorsing them.
Palin and West on the one hand, the Huckster on the other. Tea Party/outsider vs. Establishment/insider.
Who you gonna trust?
Mica is a WORTHLESS POS RINO who STUCK us w/ the “Department of Homeland “Security”” AND the TSA! POS DESREVES to LOSE BIG!
“Mica is a WORTHLESS POS RINO who STUCK us w/ the Department of Homeland Security AND the TSA!”
That makes sense as to why the Huckster would back Mica, the Hustster being a confirmed Nanny-stater.
“Mica, who has been in office since 1993”
Too long, no matter who ya are.

Absolutely. Rare is the individual who can stay in the District of Corruption for 10 years or more and not become a power hungry statist. Most are corrupted in even less time.
The default position should be, if a congressman has been in 3 or 4 terms (6-8 years), it’s time for a change. In the case of a few obvious examples of course, make an exception.
I got a recorded phone call yesterday from Huckabee for the Dewhurst campaign. The Huckster makes me sick.
Palin and Demint are campaigning for Ted Cruz.
For years Mica was against putting toll lanes on I-4 until just recently. Now he wants the so-called “Lexus lanes” tolls on an INTERSTATE. The stupid Rino knows it will be a matter of time before all the lanes are pay as you go. Florida is toll happy as it is and the Expressway Authority, long known to be horribly corrupt, raised the tolls 25% and even doubled some of the tolls.
I got laid off in orlando after 33 years at a company last year (thanks owebama) and.now I drive 75 miles to Melbourne each day. I’ll be spending about $4,500 a year in toll “fees.” Screw you Mica.

Another good example of “you are known by the company you keep.” Thanks.

Statists know that bigger government requires more of your dollars. They just never seem to expect a taxpayer revolt.
West already gave his most powerful endorsement: Justice For Trayvon©.

West jumped the gun back in March when he knee-jerked those statements about Trayvon.
Either that or he was high on “lean”.
“Lean” is right - whichever way the political winds blow.
In his case, mellanin trumps fortitude.
