Last week, reports emerged that Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy had condemned gay marriage. It's no secret that the company is run by devout Christians, but this still caused an uproar. Boston's mayor threatened to deny the company business permits, celebrities condemned the company, and the Muppets announced fast food chain wouldn't be able to license any new toys for their kids meals.
One small problem: The president of Chick-fil-A never actually said anything condemning gay marriage. Here's how CNN reported the story: ---
(CNN)The fact that Chick-fil-A is a company that espouses Christian values is no secret. The fact that its 1,600 fast-food chicken restaurants across the country are closed on Sundays has long been testament to that.
But the comments of company President Dan Cathy about gay marriage to Baptist Press on Monday have ignited a social media wildfire.
"Guilty as charged,", Cathy said when asked about his company's support of the traditional family unit as opposed to gay marriage.
"We are very much supportive of the family the biblical definition of the family unit. We are a family-owned business, a family-led business, and we are married to our first wives. We give God thanks for that," Cathy is quoted as saying. ---
But Terry Mattingly at the website GetReligion (where I am an occasional contributor) notes that if you look at the original context of the interview, Cathy wasn't asked specifically asked about gay marriage nor did he say anything about it. Here's the actual interview CNN and others cited from the Biblical Recorder and that was carried by the Baptist Press:

The Bible condemns homosexuality. What is the big deal? Why are people afraid to say what the Bible says? My bet is this will boost CFAs business -a lot. Ill be there August 1.
I need a snack today. usually I just get a cheep burger if I’m hungry to hold until dinner, but I think I’ll treat myself. The cows have been complaining.
This is who liberals are, more comfortable with communists and dictators than in a church.
I hope CFA sues gangland and philliy for attacking their First Ammendment rights.
The company does not discriminate.
My oldest daughter worked at a local store the last two years of high school. She worked her way up to assistant manager and earned one of Chick Fil A’s annual scholarships.
This same woman is now legally married to her female partner in DC.
I have accepted the reality of what she has done, she knows I do not condone it.
I’m going every day this week to support the company.
Check out the story on Nation of Islam getting a restaurant approved.
August 1st, Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day
I ‘shared’ that story on my Facebook page for folks who’ve been talking about it all week.
Those who run Media...whatever “run” is
hate Christians these days
many reasons
reasons that once did not exist
but that changed
Apparently, homosexual activists are planning a ‘kiss-in” at CFAs across the country on Aug. 3rd. It would be funny if CFA supporters across the country returned on the 3rd, bought more good food, and walked right by the activists, ignoring them as they pass.
Wed. Aug. 1 is Chick Fil A Appreciation Day. We only have two CFA restaurants in MA, but it just so happens our daughter and I are going to a concert in Somerville that night, and there’s a CFA at the Burlington Mall, which is kind of on the way. We’ll be stopping for supper there, that evening.
I would love to support them but they always get my order wrong and I hate those dang waffle fries so I end up going to Bojangles instead.
Rahm (The Ballerina) does have a small problem with this issue, just coming to light.

That is actually where I found this article—one of my friends on FB shared it.
Leftists love witch hunts.
A kiss-in? Seriously? That is not going to hurt Chick-fil-A in the slightest.
Though I personally find gay pda’s offensive, I’m squeamish about pda’s in general. I saw a dude and a chick tonguing each other in a car and just about gagged. I mean, a cute little peck, holding hands, hugging, that’s fine. But serious making out? It’s so gross to see that even with straight couples...
Must be that I’m sexually repressed.
But back to the 3rd—everyone should go in, buy Chick-fil-A again, and then say to the gay folks, “How does it feel to know that your kissing in public has absolutely NO bearing on this company’s earnings?”
But homosexuals have to punish those who dare to speak out against them. It must be in the gay handbook or something.
That's right, it's a business. I'll sell my product to homosexuals, transvestites, blacks, whites, martians, I couldn't care less.
Oh, and btw, it would mean more tax dollars for the city and state. Idiots.

Or, if you can stomach it, just sit or stand near a kissing "couple" and stare at them while you eat your sandwich and drink your beverage - and when they say something (you know they will sooner or later) reply, "You're doing this to be seen, right? Well, I see you."
