I want out of this union. My ancestors tried to escape this monstrosity but failed. I am willing to pick up where they left off. It is better to die on you feet than live on your knees. The Constitution is a joke. Sorry but it has totally failed in preserving individual rights.

No they didn't. Your ancestors were democRATs. RATs are control freaks.

I'd say the RATs have done a pretty good job of undermining the Constitution and enslaving the American people.

The only way at this point to escape the tyranny will be secession. We are way past the point where there can be a political solution. What thread of protection the Constitution provided has been completely severed. In that scenario I fully expect you and others to be on the side of the central government licking its boots and burning and pillaging in the name of UNION. Grow up and face the facts.

How does one deal with enemies? To survive and prosper, one does not negotiate with them—one defeats them.

One might also stop supporting them financially. One might understand that one's elected officials, regardless of party affiliation, are collaborators.

One cannot possibly fund the enemy with one hand and defeat them with the other.

Boycotting businesses, refusing to deal with the enemy's supporters, leaves one still among the enemy supporters. The entity one should be withholding one's money from is the Big Racket, the federal government.

The blog commentary is good as far as it goes, but it doesn't go very far.

More like 3, I suspect around 2015 The fuel of Capitalism has been squandered. It will collapse...

Well, if it's to be 3 years, why not start now? Make a significant sacrifice for America. Quit making taxable income. Next year, don't be paying that 5- or 6-figure sum to support the system you say you abhor.

If you do it now, and enough government funders (taxpayers) do likewise, the government will surrender promptly and Economageddon might be averted.

“If you do, then all the hard work you are doing at home is being undone by their government teachers.”

I can’t afford to do otherwise; I live in one of the highest-taxed regions of the country, and this past year the last Catholic school in my town closed anyway (when I was growing up we had five Catholic grammar schools and a Catholic high school - 30+ years later ALL are closed). My children attend government schools with a lot of imported “replacement Americans” from Asia and Latin America; there isn’t even an attempt to assimilate them. Too many have cultures (and fathers) to prevent it.

“I want out of this union.”

I guess we’re basically out anyway; our taxes are simply rent to live in someone else’s country. My children will never be hoisting the flag overseas for our military (while taking care not to offend anyone with such things as a cross); they’re growing up looking at the state the same way I do.

They’ll never ask themselves what they can do for “their country”; now it is about what that country is doing to them and their people. The balkanization intended to lock up minority votes for the Dems has come full circle.

People are too complacent, lazy, and/or timid to organize a perfectly legal tax resistance movement (e.g., galting), but you think they’d go in for secession?

Most won’t even pull their kids out of public schools. Some 90 percent of American schoolchildren are sent to these indoctrination camps by their own parents. This is the citizenry we are talking about, who will not even secede from a welfare program.

Stop funding the government with your taxes, even if it means you must make some sacrifice. It is the quickest, most efficient, painless solution by far.

But no. Nobody wants to give up anything for America. The Founders would not know today’s “Americans.”

You make your choices. Apparently living in that region is more important to you.

Public schooling is a form of welfare, not to mention a hallmark of socialism.

Homeschooling is neither a hardship nor a luxury.

Somehow I manage to sleep despite all of the horrors I’ve inflicted on my children; there is no welfare when my school tax bill is over $6K (which I have to pay whether I use the school or not). The Church has decided that education is not a priority (and is paying for that by having to import priests the way the US imports people); my children are raised with the faith but with no sense of responsibility for supporting clergy obviously better off financially than we are. Homeschooling is not an option (it is a luxury); to do so would reduce income to a point where we’d live in public housing and my genius children would be killed for a quarter.

We can debate this ad nauseum; I’ve had plenty of people (with opinions that matter to me) commend the job my wife and I are doing. We’ve more than reproduced ourselves; we’re doing our share.

Somehow I manage to sleep

That much is obvious! I fully understand you've no intention of reconsidering the choice you have made. However, for the sake of anyone who might be awakened, two points:

there is no welfare when my school tax bill is over $6K (which I have to pay whether I use the school or not...

You have to pay taxes to feed the people on food stamps too. Why not take food stamps? And you have to pay taxes for their housing, whether or not you live in that housing. Why don't you? It'd save you a heap of money, property taxes, utilities...no mortgage...If food stamps were available to you, entirely without strings, would you take them? Of course you would.

Point two. Homeschooling is not a luxury. If you can afford to live in a high-tax region, likely paying 25x the property tax I do, you can afford to homeschool. You just don't want to give up the lifestyle.

It's a free country, you can set these priorities and make these choices, but one ought to be honest about it.

Again, I write this not for you but for whomever it might avail.

PS: I am against killing genius ANY children at ANY price.

“You just don’t want to give up the lifestyle.”

You have no idea what you are talking about; people use MY lifestyle as their justification for never having children. There is no savings, just a paycheck-to-paycheck subsistence in an aging home I’m determined to provide for my family (that allows them to have close relationships with their extended family), with an aging vehicle, necessary dental work deferred for both myself and my wife, etc. My children’s Christian friends are exclusively Hispanic (as is my wife - a resident alien), while others are Muslim or Hindu; they have intact, traditional families (unlike many Americans I know), and none are only children (they all have siblings). The food stamps’ issue is absurd; I use the public schools because I can’t afford the alternative (and I pay for them), and see no relationship to food stamps at all.

I am exercising my freedoms to the best of my abilities, in a manner compatible with my faith.

It appears I’ve hit a nerve.

I did mention that I wasn’t attacking you personally, didn’t I? You merely offered a convenient example, and I tried to address it in such terms.

I do find it bizarre that anyone could fail to see that public education is a welfare program. But I won’t inflict myself on you any further :)

I’m proud to pay my way while refusing to believe the only people who can have multiple children live in housing projects and or are featured on “Feed the Children” commercials. Public education IS welfare for those who don’t pay for it; they get their pound of flesh from me. We are “beholden to none”.

Be good.

Thanks for understanding that this is an abstract discussion rather than a personal one. I do respect the fact that you're doing the best you can.

Last note, I promise, and I'll leave ya alone. :) You pay $6k in school tax. Cost of educating one school child, typically, is around twice that.

Presuming you had just one child, you'd be getting subsidized to the tune of around 50 percent of the cost to taxpayers. It's welfare hidden in plain sight.

Be good -- and keep alerting the kids to the perils of progressive-liberal-socialist practices. A little anti-venom is better than no anti-venom!

Perhaps you should read the whole commentary:

“Do not trade with the enemy. Do not patronise businesses which support enemy causes; by doing so you support them yourself. While an individual choosing not to be a customer of a mega-corporation has negligible impact, millions of like-minded people deciding to go elsewhere can. On the local scale, telling the owner of the pharmacy who’s posted a petition supporting socialised medicine that he’s just lost your business and why does have an impact—I did this two weeks ago myself.”

“Do not hire the enemy. Are you an employer? Why should you pay those who support the destruction of your livelihood? In our information-intense age, nothing could be easier than determining the political affiliations and contributions of applicants for employment, as well as their sentiments posted on public fora. If they are enemies, don’t hire them. You wouldn’t hire somebody without a police background check to make sure they weren’t a crook, would you? So why should you employ an enemy who will use your paycheck to destroy the values you cherish and spread the enemy’s perverted belief system among co-workers? “

“We do not compromise with enemy politicians; we defeat them, regardless of the political party from which they hail. If they’re enemies of freedom and the other party’s candidate is worse, challenge them in the primary.

We do not consent to enemy occupation of the media. These are businesses, and we will withdraw our support from them by letting subscriptions lapse and withdrawing advertising from them. This will provoke a “circulation collapse” death spiral for them. All public funding and subsidies for media must be defeated”

“You pay $6k in school tax. Cost of educating one school child, typically, is around twice that.”

Probably not in NJ any more (at least in our district, and several neighboring ones); we’ve been laying off teachers (as well as cops, firemen, and other municipal workers), letting school buildings crumble (as well as our whole infrastructure), etc. as part of Governor Christie’s tax revolt. I’ll trade the difference in credits for the elderly care, welfare, public housing, etc. that I subsidize through my municipal taxes, as well as my state and federal income taxes, that I don’t benefit from. Governor Christie was elected by the dwindling number of taxpayers left in NJ, and is doing his best to stop us from fleeing (leaving only welfare broods and illegal aliens).

: )

Keep the Faith.

Thanks for the suggestion, but I did read the whole commentary. I hope you weren’t misled because I only addressed a single point in it. Or should I say a point missing in it.
