'What a car crash... worse than Sarah Palin': British politicians' fury at Romney's..
UK Daily Mail ^ | July 27, 2012 | Toby Harnden and Thomas Duarte

Top political figures in Britain have been queuing up to criticise Mitt Romney after he kicked off his first foreign tour by publicly questioning whether London would be able to run the Olympics smoothly. The most high-profile humiliation came when thousands of Brits jeered him after London's Mayor Boris Johnson mocked him at a concert to mark the end of the Olympic Torch relay. However, behind the scenes officials were even more scathing about the Republican presidential hopeful, describing his visit as a 'car crash' and comparing him unfavourably to Sarah Palin. Another official who met with the former Governor of Massachusetts said he was 'apparently devoid of charm, warmth, humour or sincerity'.

worse than Sarah Palin

Well, looks like Palin was right when she told us to vote for Newt.

Don't blame me. I listened to Sarah Palin.

Of my two trips to London, I say that British cuisine is "completely devoid of taste."

I was spoiled though: my first trip to London occurred as I was completing my tour in Germany.

These British politicians may want to dial back their criticisms of Romney, considering the easily preventable gaffes that have occurred in the past few days. Quoting Joe Biden, that was a big effin' deal when the South Korean flag was displayed before the North Korean soccer game.

IIRC, they said much the same when Obama gave PM Brown that package of 25 DVD's as a gift in 2009.

Not a huge Romney fan. But I don’t see where the outrage is coming from. His statement was honest and clear. It wasn’t some bumbling gaffe that they are making it out to be.

IMO, this was all planned. It started with the unnamed sources (Anglo Saxon). Then spinning an honest answer about readiness into an insult. The the leftwing pols and media took over.

No matter what he did, the goal was to make him look like a fool on the trip to protect Obama.

Maybe the British tabloids should be reminded one of the first things Obummer did upon ascending to the WH was send a bust of Winston Churchill (a gift from the British) back to Britain ... certainly a classless, clueless act on the part of the ‘anointed one’.

If I were going to turn "devoid" into a noun and pick a meaning, I think I'd go with British official.

No defense of Romney. Just sayn.

It’s a no win for Romney now, if nothing happens he’ll be called a Cassandra, if something happens they’ll blame him.

Who cares what these Third Worlders have to say? The Sun has set on the British Dumpire

Ouch! So much for Romney's diplomatic abilities.

Its been all over the news how inept the British have been. Putting missile launchers on top of apartment buildings, Inadequate security, poor training, and traffic woes leading the list.

So where was he wrong?

I disagree.

I despise pandering.

This elevates Willard by another notch in my estimation.

He has the correct enemies.

So what “gaffes” have Sarah Palin committed against the stiff-arsed Brits?

Honesty in politics? Wow, what a novel idea, probably be widespread once we get that squadron of flying pigs operational.

Willard was setup on this question, as it is well known he can not help blurting out his ideas on running the Games to anyone who asks. He needs to smile, wave and STFU if he wants to even have a chance in Nov.

All over a truthful and accurate comment about some difficulties with the Olympics.

**********************************************************

Correct and all of their problems documented. The fact is the liberals in the UK cannot stand to hear the truth. Notice no one questions Romney's qualifications to make such statements.

Clumsy hatchet job and totally predictable to anyone who's awake.

I expected something more sophisticated from the brits.

Lets make sure blame is attributed rightly. As I recall there were several candidates but the electorate decided ORomney best represented their views. I think the talk was about how electable he was or some such. So, WE got what WE voted for and we’re stuck w/ it. Until the electorate wakes up and informs themselves there will be no positive change.

The Brits love Obama, so this isn’t exactly a big surprise. It’s kind of amusing how far the Brits have fallen from being unfazed by anything to whining about foreign dignitaries. Pathetic.

I've been to England twice and am in no hurry to go there again. The last time I was there I was surprised at how much public drunkenness I saw. Plus my camera was stolen.

Thank God for George Washington and the other heroes of the American Revolution.

England has long since been overtaken by Bolsheik rabble, and will soon be under the domination of Moslem rabble.
