“I’ll support Bachman. At least she’s not Romney. We cannot afford to run Romney.”
“I’ll support Cain, then. At least he’s not Romney. We cannot afford to run Romney.”
“I’ll support Santorum, then. At least he’s not Romney. We cannot afford to run Romney.”
“I’ll support Gingrich, then. At least he’s not Romney. We cannot afford to run Romney.”
“Well, they chose Romney in spite of good candidates being offered. They will have to live without my vote, since I cannot vote for Romney. Who can I write in?”
At this point, I’m almost hoping Romney wins, if only because his presidency will be a miserable failure - perhaps not Obamaesque in proportions, but miserable nevertheless - and maybe THEN people will see that neither “major” party is worth a pinch of salt. Maybe THEN, the GOP will cease to be a “major” party, and we can get one that’s actually worth something.
