Selling Out Sarah Palin
American Thinker ^ | July 27, 2012 | Steve Flesher

It hadn't been two decades since the feminist movement of the '60s when Walter Mondale announced Geraldine Ferraro as his running mate in 1984. Five years after Britain elected Margaret Thatcher as its first female prime minister, Americans also welcomed the idea of a woman holding a significant position of power.

The late Ferraro was an educated woman. She served her own jurisdiction as district attorney and went on to win a seat in the House of Representatives in 1979. Four years later, Mondale took a chance on her. She made history as the Democrat Party's first female vice presidential nominee.

In their campaign against Reagan/Bush in '84, the Mondale/Ferraro ticket wound up losing in a landslide. Nevertheless, it could be argued that Ferraro's significance in the race carried what energy the ticket had. They won 34 million American votes -- 40% of the popular vote.

Though the results were disappointing, Democrat operatives and talking heads managed to move forward without consistently dragging Ferraro's name through the mud.

Hear our prayers Lord, indeed. Sarah just has that so, so rare inspirational quality (Reagan in a skirt). She’s one of the few politicians I’d follow into the depths of hell (a/k/a Obama’s Amerika).

Same here hon.. and I STILL will not back the liberal piece of crap.. (I know it wasn’t a fair elction, no matter what the Romneybots say.. it was already set by the Democraps and GOP(E))..

Likewise, I backed Cain, until they ate his life away with bullcrap lies.. Then, I backed Newt, not as Conserve as I wanted.. but he was the last one I would support that was still on the ticket.

I have learnedd that it is best NOT to make a write in (in Texas), so I will have to vote for someone (so that no one will ‘fill in the blank for me’ when they get my absontee ballot... hmm..). BUT, I will vote all Conserve down ticket.. and SCREW supporting GOP(e)..

man, I never thought something like this would happen in my lifetime.. I think that within the last 4 years.. many people (including myself) are finally seeing what is happening to this once great nation.

I was brought up well by my father (’Nam Vet).. he started ‘informing’ me of what was happening to USA when I was about 7yo (baby-step... I was too young to understand.. but he was giving me a bit of info at a time, if that makes sense).. 35 years later, everything he said (and warned about) is happening :/

This is terrifying!

I hope and pray for all of us, that we will survive. If not, then I welcome Judgment day that much easier.

Take care, my FRiend :)

Look at my comment at 17 an 32....put them together. If Romney doesn’t appoint her as VP he should announce a couple of cabinet posts including Sarah in Energy, a real team approach uniting the “party” Add Newt, Santorum and think what they could do in DC!

BTW... you know that I would vote for her before anyone else, if she was on the ticket.. I think that is a ‘known’ between some of us ;)

Romney may win the presidency, but Gov Palin will own the undercard. She will be the de facto leader of the party. Romney's cretins know that which is why they will continue to attempt to diminish her importance.

Gotta remind them about paybacks, though...

Palin, on the other hand, even with no official position, leads.

I can't agree more..

The “tea party” is the GOP rank and file.

No, The TEA Party is the voice of many people.. and in no way/shape/form do they have ANYTHING to do with the GOP(e).. The TEA Party (which actually has some DEM/LIB/IND/REP mix) is the voice of the public that has not been involved in politics for so long because MOST people didn't understand what was involved (thank God for Internet now).

Because (Thank you Barry) of this past election.. MANY people are waking up.. Many Dems are changing to Repub (not that Repub (GOP(e)) is any better... BUT, this situation that Barry has put us in, has woken up MANY people. People, that before now would only vote 'their' ticket. It is a small step for many... but it is the step that was needed.

NOW, we need to show people what Conservatism really means.. We need to show them the meaning of what the original founders meant when they wrote the Constitution of the United States of America. What they meant when they wrote the Declaration of Independence.. What the Bill of Rights actually means.
We have a long way to go, but hopefully, we can 'assist' them in learning the true meaning.

(AND, it has NOTHING to do with a 'living' document'...)

Sarah fits more with the Tea Party than the GOP...she is for the people not a party...

It will soon be time (high time) to eliminate the R party insider/elites/professionals.

They are actually a worse enemy than the Dems - because of their complicity/cowardice etc, we have no opposition to the Dems. There’s merely the Dems, and the farm team.

The GOP has to help itself; the death spiral of the mainstream media should make this a bit easier. When Sarah did defend herself, it was conveniently buried or distorted.

It didn’t help that the top of the ticket was the worst sine Dole ‘96.

The GOP has been the Lesser of Two Evils for a long time. Now it’s becoming a Co-Evil.
