Despite Mayor Michael Bloombergs advocacy for a healthier diet and strong support for gay marriage, hes cold on the idea of banning Chick-fil-A within the five boroughs.
As mayors around the country including Bostons, Chicagos and San Franciscos are backing efforts to keep the fast food chain out of their cities due to the companys president, Dan Cathy, spending millions to push back against gay marriage, Mr. Bloomberg said its a bad idea and its not going to happen on John Gamblings radio show this morning.
Theyre all friends but I disagree with them really strongly on this one, Mr. Bloomberg said of his mayoral colleagues. You cant have a test for what the owners personal views are before you decide to give a permit to do something in the city. You really dont want to ask political beliefs or religious beliefs before you issue a permit, thats just not governments job.
Mr. Bloomberg went on to argue that blocking a business based on their political beliefs opens a potential slippery slope where liberal cities block conservative establishments and vice versa with conservative cities.
Freedom of speech everybodys in favor of it as long as its what they want to hear, he explained. Well the only way that you have your freedom of speech is if you give other people freedom of speech. This is just a bad idea and its not going to happen in New York City.
The mayor didnt weigh in on Chick-fil-As particular cuisine, however.
Never had one, he said of their sandwiches, maintaining that they would be welcome to open a business in the city with the right permits and inspections. I didnt even know about them until I read about them in the paper.
He may have not been recently sampling the fast food in Greenwich Village.
To be exact, his post was:
“Do you think calling people homos somehow elevates yourself? Really, its rude. I have gay friends who eat there, and Im pretty sure one of the guys who works at the store we go to is gay - as I said they treat everyone politely and respectfully, its a good business. Its certainly good conservatism, and even better if youre a follower of Jesus. Doesnt mean you embrace the message, but why would anyone want to consider the other side of an issue if they are called snide names?”
I don’t use the word, “gay”. I use the word they are: homos/homosexuals/homos. That is a truthful name and “gay” is a made up name.
porter_knorr, I think you are on the wrong website to support homos.
Neither Jim, Gator, or me or other conservatives on this forum supports the degenerate homo lifestyle.
I live in central NY State. Earlier today I searched Chick-fil-A’s site to see if there were any restaurants near me. They’re aren’t. The only restaurant in the state is at NY University in NY City. They’ve avoided the state like the plague, and I can’t blame them.
I'm waiting with a worm on my tongue (Isn't that what baited breath means?), for the new one to open in San Jose. As of now, the closest one is almost 100 miles away.
to be fair, homos is a slang term. If you mean homosexual then use the word.
The post sounded ignorant. I commented on that - you kept it going.
I’m not defending homosexuality, I’m discussing your post and the words you use.
Finally, to be exact “her” post was.
If you intend to push the poofter agenda on this pro-God, pro-Life, pro-Family conservative site, your account here will go *poof*.
Well Jim, you can review my postings and see where I fall in line with conservative values and it’s up to you.
I still see gay people as people in need of Jesus first, then they usually reject their politics...but I don’t know of a single gay person that crossed sides because of name calling.
You will heed my warning or begone.
I have given you my response.
Ever heard some of the names homosexuals call themselves? They tend to be a very crude and foul mouthed crowd. I don’t think “homos” will give them a legitimate case of the vapors.
Yes, he is being decent on this issue for sure.
But does it make our side look better to join in with names? (case of vapors....lol)
I’m more than surprised.
Sounds like you might have been chatting with a homo. LOL
You’re a lucky bum on the Chick-fil-A.
I’m on Long Island. I am almost 99% sure I will be taking the LIRR into the city, hop in a cab and eat at the ONLY one here in NY.
I also plan on purchasing some take out for home.
Enjoy! I’ve never eaten at one.
Me neither, it will be my first!
PK....Thank you for clearing that up.
I have been referring to these perverts as homosexuals or homos for a good long time. Yes ago I would refer to them as gay or queer, but they seemed to like those names, so I went to homosexual or homo. Actually, I wanted to call the “butt-sex perverts”, but as you can see, that takes too long to type, so I’ll stay with homos.
Quite frankly, I don’t think that it matters all that much to these misfits, because I doubt they pay much attention to what I say, because they are far too preoccupied with their favorite ‘homo hobby’ of touching and mixing with human feces and calling it sex.
Yes ago = Years ago
“Years ago I would refer to them as gay or queer, but they seemed to like those names, so I went to homosexual or homo.”
Thanks, Gator. Because of these perverts, America has become the Biblical city of Sodom and we are supposed to be sensitive to these perverts and endorse their marriage. How long will this country remain before it is destroyed as Sodom was?
Homos might as well stay out of Texas as our constitution says marriage is between a man and a woman and homo marriage will not be recognized in this state.

Why should our side allow the opposition to incorrectly define our terms?
What is the real meaning of the term "gay"?
