{Philadelphia Councilman] Kenny tells Chick-Fil-A to take a hike
Philly.com Daily News ^ | July 26 2012 | Unattributed

Chick-fil-A president Dan Cathy’s recent comments about gay marriage has caused quite a stir across the country and has City Councilman Jim Kenney fired-up.

Last week during a radio show Cathy said, "I think we are inviting God's judgment on our nation when we shake our fist at Him and say, 'We know better than you as to what constitutes a marriage,'" Cathy said. "I pray God's mercy on our generation that has such a prideful, arrogant attitude to think that we have the audacity to define what marriage is about."

Cathy later said that he is supportive of the "biblical definition of the family unit."

In a letter to Cathy, Kenney wrote: "It is with profound disillusionment and a sense of deep sadness that I write this letter in response to your recent comments. Last week you expressed support for denying gay Americans the prized right of marriage that heterosexual couples in this country so freely take for granted."

"As an American you are legally entitled to your opinion, regardless of how insensitive and intolerant it may be, but as a fellow American and an elected member of Philadelphia City Council; I am entitled to express my opinion as well. So please – take a hike and take your intolerance with you. There is no place for this type of hate in our great City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection."

And when City Council returns in September, Kenney said he will introduce a resolution condemning Cathy and the company. Check out the rest of Kenney’s letter here.

this is nuts, boycotting a place because the owner views marriage as one man between one woman which is what most Americans view as/

I find their sex sick, perverted and disgusting but to say they should be married and have children and then have two daddies etc is simply mind boggling.

Either most of those who support this haven;t really thought through what these people are asking because of how they get off sexually or like you said they have money involved or they can't get past their emotions and are too dumb or naive to understand what is at stake here.

Then to have a mayor say no to a chicken place is down right Orweillan

our great City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection

I'm surprised he didn't finish that sentence: . . . as evidenced by the high rate of AIDS here.

this is nuts, this is NAZI tactics, bouycots, intimidation etc, how the NAZi's of Germany back then would be proud boycotting a place because the owner views marriage as one man between one woman which is what most Americans view as/

Works the same way for us. I don’t take any of my business to queer friendly progressive hell hole cities. If I can’t take my assault weapons with the large magazines to Chicago, NYC, Boston, LA, etc. to protect myself from the city sponsored organized crime, I sure as hell won’t go there and spend any money.

so shall most mayors in the south and the midwest and AK say no to north east and Chicago business as they don't like guns, normal marriage, Christians etc.

Yea lets do that good bye Boston market etc the place is crap anyway.
Shall muslims not be bale to build a mosque or go tot he Olympics or have a business in these cities, cities of which most support normal marriage I might add.

How about some boycotts outside a mosque, what's with 8 to 10 people outside a chick-fil-a protesting and they get on international TV on FOX etc but thousands attend a tea party in a small town and silence , nothing, just paid off people to stand there the media states.

No matter how the Media tries and makes it look homosexuality is not sick and that they are the majority the fact remains that even after all these years most don't go with their agenda and right now more and more people I know who enevr cared are now saying piss off to them and that they're sick and no way

All of this is a huge boon for Chick Fil A. How many millions of people are aware of them now then were before? I count myself as 1 of them and even though I have to travel 25 miles each way I am going there on Aug 1. I'm going to spend $100.00 include gas and tolls to buy as much of their product as I can. I will eat some, refrigerate some and give the rest away just so I can show my support.

Philadelphia Councilman Kenny wrote "...take a hike and take your intolerance with you. There is no place for this type of hate in our great City of Brotherly Love and Sisterly Affection."

It's become open now - liberals are openly proclaiming hate in the name of love, intolerance in the name of tolerance, and the outright destruction of anyone who disagrees with their definitions. The veils are dropping, the beast is slavering.

"Don't you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought?... Has it ever occurred to you, Winston, that by the year 2050, at the very latest, not a single human being will be alive who could understand such a conversation as we are having now?... The whole climate of thought will be different. In fact, there will be no thought, as we understand it now. Orthodoxy means not thinking-not needing to think. Orthodoxy is unconsciousness."

Never been to a Chick-fil-A before, but we’re having supper there next Wednesday. That will be our #1 fast food choice from now on.

Bravo, this is the size of it now.

I visited ours in Akron, Ohio, and the line at the drive thru went out to the street! It was my first time there and my chicken delux sandwich was very tastey.

It’s time for Christians to arm themselves with The Word and stand together. In reality, how long does anyone think it’s going to be before The Word of God is forbidden and churches are refused existence because they offend these and other practitioners of perversion? I assure you, not long. The forbidding to buy and sell without “The Mark” and without bowing to the pratices of Baal is upon us.

If there aren’t enough Christian enterprises and businesses that serve Christians then Christians need to join hands and create them. I’m not talking about denying services to unbelievers.
They should be the subject of our prayers always. But the flagrant and sickening displays of perversion that are escalating as attacks on Christian beliefs are against our rights as Americans at this time. Who knows how long that will be so.

Christian businesses and enterprizes need to stand and be counted so that we, as Christians, can make our decisions. The aim of the LGBT movement isn’t equal rights for them; it’s actually to take away the rights of Christians. Obama and Rahm might be their leaders and defenders but they haven’t left much doubt as to whom they serve.

That’s the right idea. Really should have been done 15 years ago to ward off this onslaught, but better late than never.

Yep, that’s their mantra.

Intolerance flying under the banner of “Tolerance - or else.”
