What Simmons ignores is the fact that criminals - like the killers in Chicago that he referenced - don't obey the gun laws...ever. Also, crazies like the Aurora shooter often obey every gun law on the books - but are still crazy. Laws don't stop them or the punks on the street shooting up their neighborhoods over gang 'turf'. Simmons is just blowing smoke and using a tragedy to take a cheap shot at the NRA.
