Following legalization in Oregon, a woman was told that her health plan would not cover the cancer treatment she needed but rather would cover the cost of her suicide. No doubt. How much is a pillow over the face? How much does it cost to unplug the IVs? How much is a .22 to the temple?
Its cheap.
The only question is, why do you need a prescription from a doctor to put a bullet in your head? If thats your decision, why do you need a doctor? Why do you need society's permission?
As we already know from Holland the next step is to "suicide" your patient without his knowledge or permission. Actually, if you pay attention to the end-of-life dance it already happens here, people just agree not to notice. Now they want to make it explicitly legal and promote it as a positive good.
