As Chris Wallace ages, he becomes as contemptible as his father.

(Paraphrasing):

Wallace: Are you thinking about quitting?
Scalia: No, my wife would probably not like my hanging around the house.
Wallace: I can understand that.

I can’t imagine making such a snarky remark in public to a SCOTUS Justice.

He, Wallace, may have been referring to himself and his being at home all the time, and of course, that’s how he’d spin it if called out on it. From observing him over time, I don’t think he was. However, if it was the case, then I would fully understand and give my deepest sympathy to his wife, assuming that he’s married.

Then Wallace goes off on Romney about his remarks about the Olympics.

What if Romney said something on the order of: “Everything’s great, security is good, etc.,” and then there was some terrorist event like Munich.

None of the panel, especially the moron Republican strategist, pointed out that in that scenario, Wallace and his cohorts would pillory Romney endlessly for saying security was good.

Of all the London interviews, the thing that struck me was Romney talking on about his wife’s horse being in the Olympics. Now that was fodder for showing how out of touch Romney is. I’m pretty familiar with the horsey set, and I can tell you, they’re not so much.

Almost everyone I knew told me that if I did independent contracting I should form a LLC. Mike, my lawyer, told me he could make a lot of money just pushing the LLC line, but he’d be ripping me off.

He said most people are just wrong assuming that independent contractors need to form an LLC when one has no employees.

Think about it this way, your income is still your income. You can write off a heck of a lot of expenses (home office, phone lines, auto travel, etc), but you can’t hide your income from the gov.

You’d be better off getting a really good accountant.

I wish I could explain it. Only one of the many reason I have a huge CPA bill every month.

Hopefully, the country will still support a Don Draper rather than Omar Lenin even in these days of crisis.

OSHA?

If it’s gummint (on any **** level), I’ve had ‘em..
to
just
about
as
much
as
I
can
tolerate

OSHA’s biggest problem is that they consider themselves Expert in engineering and manufacturing practices, but the very best of ‘em I’ve seen couldn’t design a way to extinguish the flames when they set their foot on fire.

They do REAL good at driving businesses offshore, though.

I'm loving how people are coming together and standing up against rahm emanuel’s idea of a “Chicago moral code.”

My motto is speak up, speak out and resist any attempt by the left to deny you your rights, to control you. Like the freedom fighters of World War II, of which my relative in Lithuania was one, it will be up to We the People to follow the example of freedom fighters past and present, and do what we can to sidetrack the left. Enjoy your meal at Chick-fil-A!

Actually, I do have a very good accountant who I’ve used for thirty years to keep me out of jail. I want deductions and he won’t let me take the ones I think I should have. Still, he’s saved me a ton of money over the years.

The attorney I referred to explained it to me as his exposure as an attorney to lawsuits, which is why most attorneys create a LLC. Also, think about it, for a lawyer to do it is at no cost since one has to do it anyway.

As an aside, we had an area of I-70 that consistently provided revenue from tickets to people who changed lanes improperly. That worked until they ticketed an attorney who took the state to court, and beat them because it was not properly marked. Thousands of motorists just paid the fines but one attorney changed the practice so it no longer was something cops could use to fine drivers.

Dumb laws? It’s illegal to carry a firearm in Denver. Period. If you’re caught you forfeit the firearm and get a fine. YET, we have numerous sporting good stores in Denver that routinely sell firearms. So, how do people take them home? This is why so many people consider many laws to be jokes.

Sorry, slow Saturday....

I’m glad you weren’t in Denver for that movie opening. I guess you would have been in the thick of it.
