George Will and Dana Loesch School Donna Brazile and Ruth Marcus on Obama's 'You Didn't Build That'

For the past two weeks Barack Obama's media minions have been working overtime trying to convince the American people the President was taken out of context during his now infamous "You Didn't Build That" speech in Roanoke, Virginia.

CNN's Donna Brazile and the Washington Post's Ruth Marcus tried making that pathetic claim on ABC's This Week Sunday only to receive a much-needed education from George Will and Breitbart.com's Dana Loesch (video follows with transcript and commentary):

George Will and Dana Loesch School Donna Brazile and Ruth Marcus on Obama's 'You Didn't Build That'

DANA LOESCH, CONTRIBUTING EDITOR BREITBART.COM: And -- and you want to talk about gaffes. Here we have 41 straight months of unemployment that's been over 8 percent, which was -- the stimulus was supposed to have fixed. In terms of gaffes, it's not good to have the president get up in front of people during an election cycle and say, well, if you have a small business, you didn't built that, or as some have tried to say, oh, he took -- the Republicans took something out of context. He was talking about the Clinton tax plan, which really actually in context it's even worse, because he really was referring to his own plan, and the Clinton tax plan, we could -- we could get into...

(CROSSTALK)

LOESCH: ... the '97 tax cuts and everything else.

(CROSSTALK)

LOESCH: Yes, I did...

(CROSSTALK)

DONNA BRAZILE, CNN CONTRIBUTOR: As a small-business person, what he was saying...

LOESCH: Oh, I know...

(CROSSTALK)

BRAZILE: ... is that if you have a -- if you rely on roads and bridges and skilled workforce...

(CROSSTALK)

LOESCH: ... don't build businesses. It's the other way around, though.

BRAZILE: ... public education, that we are together, business and government, we have to have a partnership.

LOESCH: No.

(CROSSTALK)

BRAZILE: That was the context.

RUTH MARCUS, WASHINGTON POST: It was completely taken out of context.

LOESCH: It was not taken out of context.

MARCUS: It was completely taken out of context...

BRAZILE: It was.

MARCUS: ... but it matters because it falls into this pre-existing narrative, which is very powerful among people, that the president doesn't get business in general, and small business in particular. And that's why...

(CROSSTALK)

LOESCH: It was in context completely.

GEORGE WILL: I have a question for my friend, Donna. This president is...

(CROSSTALK)

BRAZILE: ... when you say that, my friend.

(CROSSTALK)

(LAUGHTER)

MARCUS: ... need to be nervous.

(CROSSTALK)

WILL: We're told that the president is the brightest president since Madison, the best educated president since John Quincy Adams, and the most articulate president -- politician since Pericles. Why does he spend so much time explaining what he actually meant?

LOESCH: Right. When you're explaining, you're losing.

Game, set, match Will and Loesch.

Bravo and brava!

"Why does he spend so much time explaining what he actually meant?"

Clever, but leftists have an easy answer for this, and at times they simply blurt it out: he's forced to constantly explain his remarks because us mere mortals are too stupid to understand. As the Left's own Meghan McCain once famously said, "People who disagree with me are just...just...well, they're just stooopid."

Ms. Brasile was right.

What the President said was taken out of context. He really didn’t say what he said and everyone is taking the words that he said to mean what he said but he really didn’t mean to say what he said because he is brilliant to the extreme and his speech is so nuanced and far in advance of any human on the planet that what he said wasn’t really what he said but was taken out of context and anyone who beleives the words that he said to be what he said is a racist and an idiot. See? Ya know?

Here is the entire quote by The Obamanation: "Look, if you’ve been successful, you didn’t get there on your own. You didn’t get there on your own. I’m always struck by people who think, well, it must be because I was just so smart. There are a lot of smart people out there. It must be because I worked harder than everybody else. Let me tell you something—there are a whole bunch of hardworking people out there.

"If you were successful, somebody along the line gave you some help. There was a great teacher somewhere in your life. Somebody helped to create this unbelievable American system that we have that allowed you to thrive. Somebody invested in roads and bridges. If you’ve got a business—you didn’t build that. Somebody else made that happen. The Internet didn’t get invented on its own. Government research created the Internet so that all the companies could make money off the Internet."

Now, what... is out of context?

Oh well, when Obama speaks, it must be because he is just so damn smart that we never understand why he never says what he says he says... until he explains what he says to us--

What... could be clearer?

Horse hockey!!

Crovitz: Who Really Invented the Internet?

--- snip ---

It's an urban legend that the government launched the Internet. The myth is that the Pentagon created the Internet to keep its communications lines up even in a nuclear strike. The truth is a more interesting story about how innovation happens—and about how hard it is to build successful technology companies even once the government gets out of the way.

--- snip ---

Here for 30 years the government had an immensely useful protocol for transferring information, TCP/IP, but it languished. . . . In less than a decade, private concerns have taken that protocol and created one of the most important technological revolutions of the millennia.

When Warren or Obama proudly announce that business did not create a building, that someone else created the building, they are highlighting their socialist belief and proud of it. They are misguided and it would be cute if such ignorance was not in power doing horrific damage to our country. It is appalling.

For a business to have contracted a builder to build the building the business and the contractor had to agree upon a trade off of mutually rewarding benefits for each party. The business gets a building and the builders get money to use where they see fit.

Once the building is finished and the contractor is paid, is the contractor still owner of the building? Does he still have a say in what is done there? No of course not. He was paid for his services therefore it is the end of the contract. Liberals believe that they own everything forever, like perpetual children that never grow up becoming responsible for themselves.

After a doctor helps give birth to a baby does he still have responsibility for the baby’s outcome? Does he have to pay for its diapers or in parenting of this child? No he got paid for his services and the parents got their baby. The liberals believe that society owns the baby forever.

After a waiter brings me the food that I order is the waiter responsible for paying for it? After all, I didn’t make it. Of course not but the Liberals believe they own all the food that others produced forever. The producers should want to give all their hard work away with no chance of getting anything for themselves. Those selfish capitalist!!

This is the perfect example of a socialist. They do not believe in ownership. They hate capitalist.

With this gang rule or community ownership of the world, there is no responsibility. This philosophy goes against the nature of man. When man is not responsible for the fruits of his labor nothing will last. If man does not own his labor he has no reason to be responsible. What would be the incentive for any individual to make any effort at all to produce goods to trade so as to sustain their own life if anyone can come in and take the fruits of their labor without trade of mutual benefit? Whether they realize it or not liberals are proponents of death and chaos.

I want to see an ad where Washington and Madison and Jefferson are all debating the Consitution, and the signers are signing their names, etc,

and then have Obama “You didn’t write that. You didn’t build America.”

I think we gotta just use this for exactly what it is. A fundamentally huge F@#K UP that has totally backfired on Barry, and use it as LEVERAGE any chance we get.

This is employing the Alinsky method right back on the liberals and they HATE IT when their own tactics are used against them. You exploit it when the other guy messes up big time.

Barry messed up big time. SOOOOOO BIG. They thought they were going to get so many people on their side with this commie talk.

LEVERAGE. We have it, we need the ads to make it hit home. The more they complain, the more it’s working. Run them more. Make other ads along the same vein.

One has the celebrating Superbowl winners getting the lockerroom phone call from the president, only to hear Barry tell them that “they didn’t win it.”

Another showing a kid training hard from childhood to adulthood, to make it to the olympics, where he or she wins a gold medal, then fade to “WHo believes she didn’t earn her medal? Barack Obama. Obama believes business owners who build their own businesses, didn’t really build them.”

Just hammer this guy to the wall on his own words. do not stop hammering. Keep hammering, and hammer some more. And then hammer away again. Constantly until the election.

I don’t understand what Dana Loesch was talking about. She seemed to confuse his “You didn’t build that” with “Our plan worked.” It was the latter which they claim he was talking about the Clinton years.

Someone needs to establish a pattern of the anti business behavior of Obama.
“Your new tax plan is going tax me more, isn’t it?” asked Joe Wurzelbacher.
Barack Obama replied, “It’s not that I want to punish your success; I just want to make sure that everybody who is behind you that they’ve got a chance to success, too. I think when you spread the wealth around, it’s good for everybody.”

Didn’t affect his supporters at that time and won’t change much now.

They can claim -- after the fact -- whatever they want. I don't think Loesch was confused at all.
