Incumbents uneasy over political changes

Between the new congressional district lines and the new open primaries, people who hold elected office in California are running for their lives.

In previous years, maybe 10 percent of congressional and legislative districts were competitive. Now everybody thinks they're at risk.

Even well-known incumbents in Democrat-dominated districts - people like Reps. Barbara Lee and John Garamendi - fear they might get beat. As a result, they are scooping up and holding onto as much campaign cash as possible.

It's all putting a pinch on Rep. Nancy Pelosi's hopes of the Democrats retaking the House.

You see, in the past the Lees and Garamendis of the world could be counted on to pass along some of their money to underfunded candidates elsewhere.

Now everyone thinks they're underfunded.

I went and read the article, I think he is worried. He’s not only drunk the Cool-Aid he’s bathing in it, but it’s not going the way it was supposed to go.

It’s going to be one of the cognitive-dissonance eoisodes when he finally realizes that everything he’s always believed was wrong.

LOL — when Obama campaigns for someone, they normally lose!

Examples, Virginia and New Jersey governor’s races, Massachusetts Scott Brown Senate election.

Maybe that’s why he stayed out of the Wisconsin recall election, because that would have been the kiss of death if he had gotten involved there.

It's because Democratic campaign treasurer Kinde Durkee embezzled all their campaign funds. But the Chronicle won't tell you that.

Just keep hoping. You can wish in one hand and sh!t in the other. See which one fills up faster.
